Unfortunately for Anna Pogo, I think this is it. Unless she develop the skills of Liza Tuks or the fighting spirit of Lena Radio, I think she will be eclipsed in the next season. There is simply too many hungry for success competitive tsarinas in waiting and pogo is certainly the weak link. That unfortunately is the cruel reality in the Russian women's team and this tough competition is what makes the survivors such tough competitors in international competitions.
 
I do understand, but GS wants to retain our website rating as suitable for young teens. To do do, we have to suppress strong language, including abbreviations and deliberate misspellings.
 
Could Russia have replaced her?

I wish they went with Alena (well Im a biased lover of the Chaplin Sp so:biggrin:)
Though I obviously understand why Anna wanted to go b/c you never know what can happen next year with Zhenia going senior as I expect she will

I'm happy she can rest now & hopefully come back stronger next year.
Won't be making any comments about the coach. I'll wait til Anna says something herself.
As for the foreign coach imo its not the solution. or maybe its just me. I like when russian sportsmen are coached by local coaches:o: they need job too! Orser cant have everyone:laugh:


Im probably the only one who won't miss her EX though I do love it:laugh2:

Pogo had to struggle through a lot of things to continute skating. And she indeed has more tech than Sima or Jenia who didn't pass through puberty yet and have incorrect lutz. I highly doubt that this is it for Pogo.

Agree, you will never know when the puberty monster attack the other girls, I think Russian fed hasn't written her off yet.
 
I'm really rooting for this girl to do well next season.....it was heart breaking to see what happened to her at worlds. Hope she comes back fighting :cheer:

True but I am just saying that realistically speaking, her chances just got really slimmed. Of course I am presuming that both Sots and Yulia Lip will return. Its not just Zhenya and Sima who are the competitors. If Leonova can clean her her FS, she can potentially be a threat as well.
 
I'm glad to see that you are a great fan of anna. I'm too. She is the most beautiful, elegant and sweetest girl in the world! I'm sure she'll recover and she'll be fine next year...she loves iceskating very much and she loves working hard. She is more serious than the other girl of her age, and in spite of her incredible beauty she is very humble.....she has a style very different from her team mates and she will not suffer for some problem that affects them. Rodionova, lipninskaia ,medvedieva are still little girls, anna is already a woman. She'll have her place next year....she is growing up ( in iceskating) more slowly and it's fine. The other russian girl have got success too early....and then they have been burned....like Adelina ....anna will get to the top later but she will last....

I am surprised to see that the gossips that Anna switched to Buyanova are not here yet...:ohwell:

Out of curiosity I looked at the CSKA site - they show Proklova as one of their skaters already, but Anna isn't listed. We'll see. I only hope that if she does move, that she had some say in the matter & is happy with it.

I really grew to like her so much during this season, mainly because she improved a lot! I disagree with the opinions shown around several GS threads that say she's done. On the contrary, I believe this was her forming season and that she's gonna show what she's worth in many more years to come. She might not make the team next season, but I'm certain she will have great GP showings, just as she did this year. Just like her exhibition says: Rise like a phoenix!
