Anna Pogorilaya

Last year she made us fans go crazy with two superb performances in Boston! She has had one dream season so far. I believe Anna will crown it with another medal at this championships, likely silver. Good luck to our queen!

My baby....ahh...it's not the end of the World, but I'm a bit gutted that she's fourth. I'm thinking ahead, and she just has to do well this year. Bronze doesn't cut it.

Once again, Anna gets low scores from the judges. She skated clean, strong and confident with no deductions and gets underscored on GOE's. You could see her fighting back tears when her score was posted. I can't believe how this always happens to her.

Anna can beat the Canadians in the Free. They are both better in the SP than the Free. Anna will need to score like a 142/143 to get the silver.

I thought Anna looked a little tight today and that may have cost her some points. I hope she can relax a bit now that the SP is done. I think Anna will come back strong in the free, and I'll be surprised if she doesn't move up and grab a medal.

I watched it on TV now, and her performance was honestly and without bias the best of the night. I felt that the crowd really loved our energetic girl, and while she wasn't perfect she looked happy and smiley. I think the arena definitely enjoyed her more than Evgenia or even Gabrielle. PCS wise she should be on top. I trust her to skate a clean free, but if Kaetlyn skates clean the silver is gone. I feel like the judges are just burning to give her high scores. It is what it is, and I hope to see Anna smile once more at the end of a undoubtly long season with highs and lows for her.

She should have been at least 3rd. But oh well... we all know judges don't like the Russian dominance.

like ashley and wakaba she delivered a great performance and just like them she was underscored. grrrr

go anna!

edit: for once she didn't finish after music! beautiful, relaxed ending to an otherwise intense program. underappreciated.

edit2: noticed that people only seem to throw flowers. have stuffed toys been disallowed now? can anyone who's been to the arena confirm? debunk? thanks in advance.

Toys are allowed. Some have been thrown, but flowers seem to be more the thing. A little girl near me ran to the ice and threw a bear to one of the skaters (or pairs?) Can't remember who.

Come on Queen Anna. Kill 'em in the free!

Tell it to the posters who think "The Russians" (as if they are all exactly the same) are all overscored, all of the time...:drama:

I think she has a very good chance to medal. I like the Canadian girls too, but the odds of both of them not making a few mistakes...well, I think Anna is more consistent and I think she will fight for it.

thank you! phew... was getting worried...

Anna's bear needs a sibling so she can get silver. :)

Stuffed toys disallowed? Can you imagine the Pooh outrage?

Words can not describe my heartfelt sorrow as I watched Anna in tears on the ice at the end of her free program and in the Kiss & Cry. Such an unfitting end to her great season. As always, she tried to put on a brave face...but I know she was feeling crushed.

Oh, Anna...

I was so convinced this would never happen to her again. It was so horrible and heartbreaking to see.

Come back strong, Anna!

I was in shock to say the least. I hope she is ok and not injured or something. At least it was good to see her coaches comforting her.

She's a strong girl and I'm sure she won't give up after this...

A bad blow. I pray to the skating gods that Anna calms down and recovers. She has been at this place before and worked her way out. She must not resign.

Poor thing ... but she did fight. Hope that she's not too crushed after this. She had a very good season until Worlds after all.

I love you, my brave, brave Girl. Following your career is connected to heartbreak.

Figure skating is a sport that is about standing up, after you're falling down.

Only with extreme lows come extreme highs and the victory gets sweeter. I trust you'll survive. You'll stand up and soar into the sky again.

You're my favourite Lady competing and no other can compare. No matter if I'll see you on top of the podium or at a World Championship again, you are and will always be special.
