Anna Pogorilaya

I wish we could all be there and give her a huge group hug after she ended the program.
Don't cry Anna, you'll come back stronger!

The audience literally hugged her with applause and cheers. Don't know if you would have seen it, but she was really crying in the K & C and then took her fingers and forced her mouth into a smile. It was very endearing. At that point the audience cheered and clapped and gave her a standing ovation. Glad to see her coaches were not doing the stoic thing. They knew how upset she was and were comforting and consoling her. Pretty sure she made some of us audience members cry too. She went down pretty hard on her knee in one of her falls.

Heartbreaking watching Anna cry. The audience felt her pain and consoled her with applause. Hope she is ok.

Anna , We love you so much , yesterday , today and tomorrow
You are in our hearts, we are even more with you in wrong moment.
Tomorrow is another day and the sun will shine again for you, we are convinced of it, you have so much talent.
Next year, another adventure begins and we shall be in your quoted, to live magic moments, You makes us dream on the ice
Thank you very much for this season, you have gave us a lot of happiness of Moscow to Ostrava via Sapporo and Marseille.

I'm really sorry for her but, at this point, we have to admit that that's the way she is.
I really love to see her on the ice because she is always full of emotions. I'm beginning to think that what she does is not interpretation, what we see is real.
In a good day she is spectacular: I really don't care what her scores are when she delivers programs like her SP two days ago. It was the one I enjoyed the most.
The other side of the coin is that, in a bad day her emotions are overwhelming too...
I understand that, for her own good, she needs to work on it but I'm really looking forward to see her at the Olympics.

Even Finnish President and Thomas Bach, the IOC President, met Anna and comforted her after the Competitions, so don't worry that much, guys.

Come on it was just a bad season. She had that kind of competitions before and she still managed to do amazing things. About the Olympic spots I truly believe that the only one who can challenge Evgenia and Anna in Russia is Alina Zagitova. Last night's competition was mostly a mess where almost all of the girls were nervous. Wishing an awesome 2017-2018 season for Anna!

I don't believe it was a bad season. It was her best season ever.

With Anna there seems to be no middle ground. When she fails, she really fails and when she soars, she really does soar. I was thinking how she could have come back after the blotched combo and there was no way to come back from that, really. And that's when the headworks started, like "What do I do now? What do I have to do to make this right?" And there was no way to make it right.....so nothing worked out anymore.

Just posted this in the Competition Thread, and thought I should post it here too:

I could have cried at the end of Anna Pogo's routine. (I didn't)

After that, my heart just wasn't in it. I did watch on, but my mind was elsewhere. I was actually thinking about how to word a couple of the Fan Fest edits that I am preparing!

Even Kaetlyn coming second couldn't make up for it. (Under normal circumstances, I would have been ecstactic, because I just love her!)

I really hope that this week was just a blip for Anna, and that we are not returning to the bad old days of a couple of seasons ago.

Here's to a bigger and better 2017-18 season for her!

I haven't fully recovered from Anna's free.

I knew earning a medal wouldn't be easy. The judges always gave all their love to Evgenia and Anna very often had to fight from behind. Yet, she never failed. She always managed to fight and win medals despite obvious judges favouritism.

But that didn't happen this time.

I think Anna was shocked she was fourth after SP despite being clean. I myself was. I couldn't belive she didn't earn the small medal. And I think this ruined Anna. She had the pressure on her to be perfect. But right the beginning gave it away. I still can't erase Anna's tears from my mind. Her worst meltdown ever.

So now her great season ended with a big bitter note. and the Russian federation will be cautious whetheru to send her to Korea. I'm scared for Anna. But then, she always managed to fight back from being an underdog, who was written off many times. So I believe she could do it again.

I agree that the score of her short program was a shock to her and many others...the look on her face as she choked back the tears when the score was posted was very telling. It knocked the wind out of her sails.

She's still my number one favorite current lady skater. It was devastating to watch her cry, but I know she will only comeback strong next season!

Maybe I believe some weird things but I think Finland is bad for Anna. Her pattern is that she has a good WC, then bad WC, then good WC again. She will come back for sure I think.

I was scared to watch this after reading all the comments and yep, it was terrible. It's okay, this just has to like, not happen at Russian Nationals and the Olympics and she'll be fine...

And according to that pattern, I guess she will come back at the right time to medal at Olympics this time!
