Anna Pogorilaya

And I agree this is a good piece of work that may be used as a plan B for Olympics.

What is the actual likelihood of her taking this program to competition though? I loved it a lot and think it would be good to distinguish her in a field where there are so many ladies doing Swan Lake in either the short or the free, but it seems like pulling together an exhibition into a competitive program last minute in Olympic season could possibly cost her her ticket to PyeongChang.

I assume it's the Short program dress. I'm neutral about it. It's not horrible, but I've seen better. The dress is secondary to me, I just want to see her new programs and how her form is.

The probability of seeing Anna Karenina as a competitive program for Anna has just dropped to zero. :scard8:

yes medvedeva pick anna karenina ... she would have to be more than perfect all the time ... but in the other hand swan like against kaetlynd osmond in GP canada ... isn't easy either ... so what she have to loose
I like the dress ... but what i really want to see is her program

yes, it seems that Evghenia already did what we hoped that Anna would do. I saw her new LP from Japan Open without knowing that she also had an exhibition program with Anna Karenina and almost the same dress this summer at Dreams on Ice.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC77xczvTWE. Of course, I prefer Anna's. It's so Anna Karenina. Evghenia looks like portraiting any other female character from the book, but Anna Karenina.

Anna should have picked from the beginning AK...She is made to portray this character
I don't worry about the costumes, she always has very good ones.

Ohhh I think this has a lot of potential, she could do this music super well. Now all we have to do is pray she has the most interesting cut of Swan Lake like, ever.

Thanks for the Info. Just listened to Esperanza on Spotify, I really like it. It's both fiery and soft, I wonder how they'll cut it? I suspect the Flamenco-like part with the castanets will be the focus - and I can imagine that Anna has the fire to really interpret this with Camerlengo's choreography. I'm still a bit disappointed that Anna won't skate to Anna Karenina, but I adore Swan Lake and I know she can do it. And Morozov choreographed my favourite Swan Lake program ever, CyberSwan. Now all that's left is to hope that Anna's jumps are there and she's worked on her mental game in the off-season. I hope she can at least win one Grand Prix, perhaps Skate America, as Skate Canada is mighty hard. But doable. Who knows?

For the music cuts, it's pretty short, and from the album cover on youtube it's an original piece for skaters, so I am not sure they'll cut it at all?

And idk, maybe I've been reading non-reputable sources but I remember seeing something somewhere that said she's been struggling with mental stuff? Does anyone know anything about that? I'm hoping Anna can come into this season strong and confident and do a double gold on the GP circuit like last year (but at the very least make the GPF), but I worry so much about her.

Fantastic news! I simply love Esperanza. Ideal music to show your fierceness.
Valentina Machei used this piece of music for her short program in the season 2012-13, choreographed by Massimo Scali. I am so pleased that Anna chooses it for her Olympics season, certainly a step forward in terms of presentation and I really look forward to it.

BTW, does anyone know how Anna has been doing recently?

I'm super excited for the SP now, it feels like a music that will suit her and show her fierceness and charisma on the ice! I'm a bit more cautious about Swan Lake, just because it has been used so many times (this season as well). Fingers crossed for her GP season!

Does anyone know if there will be streams of the Russian Cup competition Anna will be in this weekend?

Ah, for some reason I thought it was 4 minutes long, but that was another song from that album. It's 2:43, probably doesn't need to be cut. I read that about her, too. But I hope these are just rumours. I too worry, but I'll wait until the Grand Prix's to decide if I'm really heartbroken and all hope is lost. I still believe in her, and even if beating Medvedeva and Zagitova is a pipe dream, I really do believe she can get that third spot if she's clean enough. I think her PCS will be much higher still than Sotskova, who is imho, her strongest rival for that spot. But who knows. I hope she makes GPF, too.
