Anna Pogorilaya

Definitely didn’t mean to imply anyone was getting in each other’s way on purpose. I was thinking more along the lines that it was a moment of carelessness. Anyway, it’s true that Anna should be able to handle such distractions. I’m concerned for her but I’m just going to hope for 2 performances that show her potential and that she can build on for the rest of the season. A lot of things can change from the beginning of the Grand Prix season to Nationals. Whatever happens, Anna has given us a lot of beautiful skating and I’m going to enjoy her and cheer for her no matter what happens this season. I just want her to be happy and skate in a way so that she has no regrets.
I think she’s an Olympic medal contender if she regains her last season form but if she doesn’t I don’t want to put blame on her or disregard all of her other great accomplishments and great performances.

Best of luck to Anna. I hope all goes well for her. Looking forward to her take on Swan Lake.

I am so nervous for Anna and whatever happens at this competition, I hope she won't be affected badly. She just needs to relax and work harder to get into her top form at the right time.

I hope she can surprise us all and skate well tomorrow. Maybe she wont have so much pressure and will do well. I really hope she skates cleanly.

Thank you for the video. And congratulation for your first post ... and welcome
I think she seems a little defeatead in spirit ...
Your welcome! And thank you so much!! I've been reading the thread for a while but I'm not very confident on my english.
I also thought the same about her spirit but it doesn't worry me much since it's only practice. I pointed out the fall because of how she rubbed the back of her neck, which I think is a very dangerous area.

Yeah, she held her neck for a bit but she apparently did fine after so I'm hopeful she's okay. Wishing her all the best for tomorrow. I love her music choice for her SP so I'm rooting for her to skate it clean.
Yes, I also think (and hope) it was only alarming in the moment. And also yes, I'm reaaaally hoping she'll skate clean to accompany her beautiful skating and music, and to give her confidence for the FS.

Finally witnessed Anna’s practice live today. It was really rough and frustrating, including several scary falls. I was sitting right next to where her coach was standing, so I could really see the frustration on her face and I was so worried for her. But she never gave up trying for the 3Lz3T! The girl is fearless and has character! On the positive side, she did do like 4 cleanish 3Lz3T out of like 10 attempts. I was able to capture 2 on the video here https://instagram.com/p/BavPBHGg4oK/

Tomorrow I’ll go to the practice at 7am and hopefully will see her again! At this point, I just hope that she will not get more injured and just have a fun time and feel the love and support from the fans! Best luck for SP!

She seemed to get off to a good start, then someone got in her way, and it seemed like she was very distracted and frustrated after that. I'm hoping that it was just a bit of jet lag and jitters and that tomorrow goes better.

Thank you for sharing. Good to know that the goods are still there and her jumps are technically stable. Still, the most underlying problem, I so hoped she worked at during the summer, is obviously still there.

Don't let a mistake, or if something doesn't go your way, lose your focus, Anna. It is mighty important that something like Worlds doesn't happen anymore.

You can fall, pop a jump, whatever, but don't let go of the program. :ohwell:

It's so frustrating!

Just watched Anna's SP practice -- a little wobbly on her first two jumping passes but no falls. She still looks a little... dejected? I don't know, but I hope her energy is high for the actual event! Hoping she puts out a skate she can be happy with here, wishing her all the best!

I just tell myself she looks like this at every practice. *graspingatstraws*

Well, she's a pretty intense young woman so perhaps the look on her face is just... her. We certainly don't need her to be smiling all the time, although I do wish that she could relax a little and enjoy her skating a little more. I remember when watching her Rose performance this summer I was so taken by the way she just poured her soul and love onto the ice and seemed so happy to be there. That's the Anna I want to see -- the one who is on ice because it's her passion, and sharing that passion with the world.

As I kept watching the livestream she landed several strong jumps and combos (there was one pop, but no pogosplats!), so I am cautiously optimistic for her. Only a few hours to go!

I've seen her about 5 times, she does look like that at every practice. Well, pretty much...

So don't worry. She'll be fine...

69.05 and second place in the SP! Not in love with this program, gotta be honest, but I am relieved and thrilled for Anna!

Almost didn't believe that was possible. I just hope she will survive the long program. If she stays ahead of Maria, all is good. I also wasn't too keen on the program tonight. That I don't like the dress plays a part. But I'm also glad that Anna is, even now, challenging herself and presents two brand new programs in the Olympic Season instead of repeating - well knowing she might not make it. I believe she can get better.

I think Skate America will be the real test of this short. I want to see it pain-free and energetic, and I think she's still nursing that back based on her spins. I'll withhold my final judgement until then.

I barely held my tears when I saw Anna smiling and talking happily to the camera at the KnC. She is clearly having difficult time recovering from back injury and all the feelings from World Championships last season. Today's clean skate was a miracle considering her practice videos. I am so happy right now. I hope everything will be okay after she recovers and gains some confidence.
