Some kind words for Anna from Ilya Averbukh, called her a "fighter" that "deserves a lot." Glad to know people high up in the Russian skating world still have faith in her after Helsinki, especially in this olympic season!

She's skating last right after Osmond's swan lake tomorrow -_-
I couldn't think of a worst way to add pressure, but seeing how great her SP was today I'll keep my hopes up.

It was so nerve racking to see her skate live today! My friend and I were cheering so hard for her as it seemed that there were so few people who wanted her to do well in the arena haha. Well, it’s Canada . I was insanely happy to see a clean program from her and the happy smile afterwards. It really means a lot for me! I gave her a pusheen the cat plush afterwards and I hope she likes it!

I love this short program so much already; the music sounds great live,and the choreography is tasteful. The dress is really stunning seeing it live as it’s so shiny with a lot of crystals, and Anna looks like a flame on ice! I’m also happy that she did not do the bielleman or the haircutter even though her spins are level3 for now. She was wearing some kind of heavy back support during practice.

So excited and nervous for her FS today! Since Anna is gonna skate right after Kaetlyn, and the first 30s of their music is almost identical, it’s gonna be an epic war of Swan Lake !

"Of course, I understand that this is not enough, but today I'm happy. After the World Cup I worked a lot on myself, and I had to overcome a lot - both in training, and in myself. But no one said that it would be easy. We need to get up and move on."

I love her fight. She's not in the best shape yet but she's taking care of herself and she's a very determined lady.

Black Swan Anna

Anna looks amazing in black. Still, there is a similar problem (like SP) with that dress at her bust. I slowly begin to think that she is heavily bandaged underneath so it begins to look bulky or something. For the Free! Go my Darling Swan!

Yes I was thinking the same thing, her face and limbs do not look like she gained weight but her dresses do not flatter her well this season and I suspect she has a brace/belt on her middle to support her back. I like this dress more than the short (still hoping she'll change that one for something with sleeves for a more flamenco feel). Either way, I care much less about her costumes than I do her skating, hoping she holds on to medal! Davai!

Though her skating seemed tentative yesterday, I thought Anna's SP has great potential. I actually loved the dress also.

Am I the only one who thinks Anna really needs to ditch Tsareva? Some of the translations I've seen of what Tsareva said to Anna after that skate, in which her injury was clearly giving her troubles, are downright mean. Anna deserves better than that, especially since she's historically proven psychologically delicate.

I mean, it's a month away, so she could. I don't know if it's the best idea for her physically if her back is hurting (I personally destroyed my ability to compete as an athlete by insisting on training with a back injury and I never was doing anywhere near the level Anna is at) but if she goes, I'll definitely be there to cheer her on!
