It will be very tough competition. Euro2017 is kindergarten by comparison with this kids' battle.

I'm sooo happy that she will apparently be skating at the junior nationals! I so hope that she'll be able to skate both programs clean!

I'm looking forward to seeing how her SP will evolve as she gets more used to performing it. Just its step sequence is going to be the highlight of the competition for me, no matter how her jumps might end up being! And most of all, I'm really looking forward to seeing her skate to a relatively large audience, finally.

I really can't wait!! Luckily it's only going to be a few more days, though they are going to feel oh, so long...

I'm not sure about this part. There was held JGP, and arena was almost empty. I mean, of course it's another level. Junior Nationals are far more better. So many names of talented skaters, but it's obvious for us, I doubt there people care about figure skating and follow it. I saw filled arena there only once, at one garbage Challenger competition with weak list of participants.

Just going with how the audience was for the junior nationals last season, for instance. It doesn't even need to be full, just... a decent amount of people. From what I've seen, junior nationals have had relatively good audiences.

The current venue isn't ideal, I just hope that it will be at least somewhat decent so it doesn't seem like she's performing to just a dozen or so people.

First junior nats, first JN draw in life: 1 2 3

Also, good starting number for Anya - middle of the pack, second in her group: still warmed up, but not in first.
You go girl!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Good clean skate, 68.19, unfortunately missed last group by 0.15 points. :ohwell:
Competition level is insane.

Clearly improved overall I'd say. Step sequence was much better, jumps also looked better. She was actually hitting the steps / turns better, something she really struggled with at Moscow Cup.

Just... please, don't simplify that Lutz entry. I liked it so much!! :sad21:

Hopefully she at least does the solo Lutz entry for her FS to make up for it... And skates the FS clean while she's at it.

Well, it was not to be. Looked very good in warm ups, clean run-through but when push came to shove, had an actual disaster skate. She looked so sad. :sad21:

I think she might now need to just train and concentrate on recovering and just not really think about competing until next season. That's when she needs to be able to show her best...

Watching Anya in K&C was even more painful than her 3 falls. :sad46:

Well, it was probably too soon for her to face this kind of challenge... I hope she will be OK... :thank:

She was so tired in the end, you can't cheat reality after 9 months off competitions. :confused2:
Proud of Anya anyways, she gave her best and it's great to see her able to skate at all after such serious injury.

Looking forward to the future, Elder Age Championships in April are coming sooner than you think! :agree:

Aah, she's participating there also?

Mmm, I hope that's enough time for her to look like herself again... The SP being new means it has a lot of interesting things but even during the first half of her FS it's very obvious she's nowhere near where she was a year ago, let alone the improvement one would expect to happen in a year.

I'm not sure what sort of a timeline we should expect for her to get back there and beyond... I don't know if it's going to happen before next season, although I'm always going to hope for her to do as well as possible.
