Anna Shcherbakova

Oh, Anna... always something very strange happens. This time the 3Lz-3Lo was actually a 3Lz-2Lo, I don't think the third revolution even started...

Apart from that, the jumps do look much better! Especially the second 3Lutz was amazing and the first one that might actually be at her pre-injury level. The solo 3Lo was also very good and this time around, the 2A-3T which she's really struggled with this season was also great. I just really wished that she could have a clean skate here but this still was really good. Now I hope that she will be able to peacefully prepare for the next season without any more competitions~

She looks pretty good there, seems like her physical capabilities regarding solo jump are close to those before injury, she just needs more stamina to endure whole free skate. Busy pre-season ahead. :cheer2:

Looks great indeed! And she performed a couple of gorgeous 3Lz-3Los there - It's a shame she couldn't do it in the competition. It does appear to be rather inconsistent. The solo 3Lz, on the other hand, looks even better there.

A good, healthy offseason will be so beneficial for her. As long as she avoids injury, I'm sure she'll be back stronger than ever next season. The jump height has already returned, from now on it'll just be improvement.

Beautiful dog! :)

I must say that warm-up video poured a lot of optimism in me. I admit to be a bit nervous about Anna's post-injury legs strength and jumping ability, I was afraid she's irretrievably lost some of her vertical leap, which seems not the case.
I think with patience and good physical training, the quad will come back to her sooner or later and I still think, of all the Russian phenoms, she has the best chance to preserve it in the future.

can't agree with that... i don't think her chances are good... she doesn't have good height and if she gets any more weight she will lose her jumps immediately... i wish she would work on her muscle mass... she's way too thin

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but it's crossing my mind she would be ideal for ice dance or maybe even for pairs.

no. Anna has Evgenia's like body type. She's not going to lose anything.

The jump height pre-injury was fine. and lately it's been fine, also. Even her Salchow which has always been an issue has been much bigger recently.

The body type's very good, hence "if she gets any more weight" doesn't really work like that. Actually, I think that she could gain quite a bit more weight which hopefully would also help her jump higher.

Shcherbakova's aerial rotation is the prettiest out of anyone apart from Akatieva, perhaps. That's another thing to keep in mind...

Another question is: how much higher will she jump with more muscles in her legs?
More muscles always means more power, but vertical leap can be trained only so much and depends mostly on genetics.

Her rotation speed is insane anyway.
