Anna Shcherbakova

Truly! It's incredible seeing her so happy. And with such frequent updates!

It'll be great if she'll be able to recharge her batteries in order to attack her training for next season like never before.

Yep, especially after this season... my fingers are forever crossed for the next season to be full of beauty and joy for our fairy... :cheer::cheer2::cheer:

Part of an article from https://rsport.ria.ru/blog_rian/20180526/1137350891.html, translated by Google and a friend:

"Shcherbakova's value is not just in the quadruple lutz. She can become one of the best figure skaters even without it. It is enough to look at Anna in the hall during classes with the choreographer Alexei Zheleznyakov. There are several videos on YouTube. Her dance gift can only be revealed even more with the onset of that 17-year anniversary."

Yes, it's definitely enough to look at her.. and with her amazing technical potential...:cheer::pray:

Anna! I‘m so excited for the next season. With quad or without, just can‘t wait to see her skating again. Of course we never know what might happen, but I love how incredibly artistic her skating is for her age and the grace and calmness she portrays. I hope she gets to achieve everything this season she wants!! :)

Well said [emoji7] I’m so impatient for this season to start aghh only 2 1/2 months until the first JGP event starts [emoji86]

The best thing is how dedicated she is to every movement and how convincing she is able to be with even the smaller gestures. With good choreography she's going to really be able to shine and I'm so curious about the direction they're going to head towards with her free skate. If her free skate has some pretty spirals...

It really is taking toooo long! Over 2 months... :sad21:

Is it sure she's getting the JGP spot, though?
I don't think so, but there really is nothing to do apart from being confident in ability to show a performance deserving of one during the test skates etc. They probably realize she was injured last season which hopefully gives her a bit more of a leash.

Yeah.. still it's kind of weird because in any other country she would be undisputed no. 1.. :dumb:

That‘s why competing is so hard in Russia. There are dozens of girls waiting and fighting for spots. Anna really needs to be confident because she‘s amazing when she‘s on. But well, you really need to have that mental strength if you‘re competing at such a level and that isn‘t exactly easy. One mistake and you’re pretty much done for. In a country like Italy, Caro for example has it „easier“. She doesn‘t have to worry that much about someone younger coming up and stealing her spot so she got all the time to mature and get to the level artistically she is today. In Russia, a scenario like this is impossible. And even though I love how many talented skaters they have, it‘s incredibly frustating to know that we‘ll probably never see Evgenia, Alina, Sasha, Alena or Anna skate for as long as Carolina could.

I can't really see anyone younger coming up and stealing Anna's spot, if she's healthy. There are dozens of very experienced and successful internationally novice, junior and senior Russian ladies champions and medalists, but if I had to bet all my assets on one potential female Russian participant in 2022 Olympics, I'd choose Anna. :)

I hope you’re going to be right! Not only for Anna but for your poor money, too!

But well, four years ago everyone predicted Elena to go to the OG and look where she‘s now. Roughly one year ago Evgenia seemed a safe bet to win the OGM. Of course, neither of these cases is really comparable but what I‘m trying to say: You never know what might happen. Four years is a long, long time for a figure skater.

But if I had to bet, my money would either go to Alena or Anna. :)

That is true but it is only about 6 weeks when we will know the first JGP entries. After that time will pass quickly because there will be more JGP entries every week.
