Anna Shcherbakova

Indeed, there is some kind of a gleam of nobility around all her family.

I hope that the date of her JGP appearance will stay.. but at the same time I kinda wish she would have more time to prepare, she didn't seem to do too well at the test skates.. :scratch2::pray:

I think it’s good she has the first JGP - it gives her time to experiment and work on it before JGPF if she gets in. I’m determined for her to!
It’s like Sasha did last year

I'm not sure, if she can do it.
She's so incredibly lean, is there enough power for two consecutive programs with a quad in two days in that body? :hopelessness:

Like I know there are those super thin African long distance runners with fantastic stamina, but they basically move monotonously in the same tempo for half an hour or so - they don't have to explode several times in the air, change tempo/cardio, remember about pristine technique, etc..
What if her body is simply maxed out? Maybe they shouldn't push her. Maybe with the slower way her body develops, she needs one more year of practising quads calmly in trainings and establishing good JGP position without them, just focusing on clean, artistic performances?
I'm 99,999% sure this girl has it all, it's just maybe her talent needs more peaceful approach... :confused2:

Sorry for a rant, I can't really get used to watching her falling I guess... :bang:

Just remember how much falls Trusova had during her learning of 4S last season. I am afraid that when training quads - falls are inevitable. It's a matter of readiness for falls and calm approach to the fact and do not letting it influence your nerves, stamina and program flow. Which apparently is harder for Anna than for Sasha. Nevertheless I don't think it's something she can't cope with - she was surprisingly able during that difficult skate. All in all, considering it's just test skate - it wasn't disaster. Judging by her previous skates success pattern - we can hope that her next skate will be successful one :)

Hey, I am new to the fan fest of Anna but I started watching her skating because of the Russian Ladies thread...

I came across a video on youtube posted 10 months ago, apparently during the healing process, I assume some of you have seen it when it was posted by Evgenia.

But I would like to say here how impressed I am that she needed Daniil's help just to skate and now we are dicussing her first JGP, she had her star moment at the show in Japan and is considered to be an equally threatening contender for the Russian podium like Sasha and Alyona.
Just respect to this little girl!

Yes, we've been in the fast lane for last 7 months, haven't we?
Last year nobody even knew for sure, if Anna is going to successfully continue with skating, not to mention winning anything last season. Severely broken leg, slow recovery and all her colleagues quickly sailing away with tremendous sucess in JGP. I didn't look optimistic at all and boom - January came and phoenix arose from the ashes!
Some ups and downs in domestic tourneys, quad video and everybody expecting her to keep pushing pedal to the metal on that fast lane. Sometimes it's good to slow down for a sec, look back and around and appreciate the whole wonderful journey.

I like your strategy best for Anna. Why push her?

I don't think they need to be pushed. Those girls, just like any other athletes who were managed to withstand it into this phase must have their own will and ambitions. They are also smart and know that for success they need to be better than the rest. Don't see them just like bunch of innocent angels. That is not that I speak bad about them, ambitions and will to succeed are absolutely natural.
