Anna Shcherbakova

Trusova's had plenty of programs with mistakes, in fact she's yet to skate a clean competition with her full layout this season, whereas Anna skated cleanly before...
It's frustrating, but we can't change the fact that she has won those competitions with over 220 points, even with some mistakes. That's the overall problem of think that Anna can beat her already.

Anna's scored 227 this season, you know. And that was with a mistake in her SP where she had a UR fall on -3Lo.

Indeed, it'd require mistakes by Trusova and no mistakes by Anna. But such a scenario really shouldn't be impossible.

I think people are mainly saying that if ANYONE can beat Sasha, it‘s Anna but at this point they just don‘t expect Sasha to be beaten. Or that‘s what I think at least. Both have made mistakes this season already, with quads you never know. In the end it will depend on who is the cleanest that day. It could be Sasha but it could very well be Anna, too. I think in general it‘s understandable that people would give the edge to Sasha, though (I would, too, even though I prefer Anna by far) since she has
1) more experience - Anna missed last season (not her fault obviously)
2) Anna made some mistakes in SP a few times already (only time Sasha messed up the 3-3 was at the Khrustalnyi exhibition and that wasn‘t even a competition so shouldn‘t really count)

That being said, I wish Anna lots of luck of course and I‘d actually prefer it if she won. Sasha is a lovely girl but her skating isn‘t really my cup of tea whereas Anna‘s definitely is. But overall, we never know. Quads are risky and can‘t really be predicted. Everything could happen, truly, but I‘m at least 99.9% sure that it will be either Sasha or Anna who‘ll be on the top of the podium with the other one in close second.

Trusova pointed in her recent interview she would be happy if FS consisted only of jumps. All those rotations, passes etc. only make the mess and complications.

Shcherbakova is much more advanced in "all that mess" . Her PCS should help a lot.

The planned program content is out for the JGPF competitors. Anna is planning to compete two 4Lzs, one in the 4Lz+3T combination. Sasha will do the same, plus an additional 4T.

You know that domestic competitions are different. Anyway, on the CoR, Trusova has score more than 230 with more mistakes than Anna, so...

Don't misunderstand, i'm not saying that Sasha can't lose or is better than Anna, but i'm not expecting to see Anna won this competition. Sasha has actually some advantages and can win this final even if not clean.

I'm so nervous for Anna, I want her to do so well. I know it's just the first day of practice, but I really hope she can pull of the quad lutzes on Saturday because I'm terrified for her and the other members of the 3A  :sad4:

Where do you find planned program content for competitions?
It's on the ISU page of the competition, for GP competitions only (it'll probably be there for other upcoming top-level senior competitions too). If you click planned program content or planned program entries, it'll bring up the list.

It's in entries, not content. I kept thinking it was under content and couldn't find it. Thanks!

Anna's thread has been rather silent. I put this down to an utter paralysis of suspenseful reverence as the moment approaches for another awesome demonstration of Anna's ethereal magic.

we all silently wish her to land all her quads. :) Just to see how amazed and raving public would be.

I was rewatching Anna's performances and am really impressed at her graceful, expressive and beautiful spins, spirals and tano jumps and by her wonderful artistry and even her facial expressions. She also has picturesque air position and seemingly easy fluidity through her jumps that is aesthetically pleasing while still having very good elevation. I really like her extended leg transition into the double axel with an arabesque spiral on exit and the lightness and nice posture with which she does it. She has a lot of appealing qualities in addition to her awesome quads. I will be cheering for her because she is my favorite skater in the Final.

That was unfortunate..is she okay? I hope it was the pressure only, since she can do 3Lz and 2A in her sleep

It is shocking to see her in last place and that she had a bad short program. Even though she's only a junior Anna needs to put this behind her and let it fly in the free skate on Saturday. But I have will have to watch her short program and its entirety to know what really happened. Poor baby she must be crushed.

Broke my heart to see Anna crying [emoji24][emoji24] she's so amazing, such a joy to watch, and I hope she knows this.

Yup there were some technical errors, but it's her first important final and she can only improve from here. I hope this will be a learning experience and to see her comeback in the FS. We all know that she can! And whatever happens, I will still support her because she's just unique![emoji173]
