Anna Shcherbakova

Totally agree! I absolutely love her dress, and it is perfect for the theme that her program is presenting. Everything in her packaging is well-thought, to create this aura of mistery throughout the entire performance and draw you in.

Mysterie, Eeriness, even scary sometimes, this image Gleikhengauz staged for Anna. Much like the book, which Anna has read to get thoroughly acquainted and immersed in what she wants to express in her short program.

Long program is equally good and a standout performance for it also is so unusual yet so well thought out, thought through even. F.S. Skating USA does live previews and post views, and they speak highly of Anna and the other Khrustalniy Amazing Aces.

Anna's practices looks really good, both 4Lzs were landed in the run through, the second UR but that's not a big problem. And another landed in the practice; overall it looks more consistent than last season. If she puts both to her feet, I think she's got a good shot at winning. I also love her SP dress the most of all the dresses we've seen this season. Fingers crossed for Anna in a few hours, definitely the skater I'm rooting for the most this season.

Her SP dress is absolutely stunning! The detail on it is amazing

I am so happy for her! And that was the most beautiful skate, she was SO expressive. Happy she landed the lutzes but those quads have nothing on her musicality and performance. Funny when people comment about quads winning over artistry, because Anna's artistry is more impressive than her quads. She's an amazing artist who just happens to have quads too.

You are happy you didn't see it with the Czech TV commentary... :palmf:

But Anička, you are the best :yahoo:

Firebird Fierce rode with her two best friends today: Speed and Skill :-)

And her English is quite excellent for a 15 year old Russian school girl, as bright and clever as they come. And confident too, there are lots of qualities and powers hiding in this young skater.

Well done, Anna Stanislavovna.

Lots of Russians in the audience, there was a chorus singing the national anthem together with Anna.

Her English is amazing. She excels in so many different areas, I'm happy for her!
Also the isu stream had a second interview with her and Tracy but they cut it for the ceremony :(

Very impressed by the long hug between Eteri and Anna (remember another one for Alina?). Eteri must be very proud of Anya!

Anya

I am ecstatic for her, yes she tried for the first time and succesfully landed in a international competition a 4Lz+3T combo AND a 4Lz, but her skating is so much more than this. She is so charming, expressive, graceful and posed, I actually see her like a "Firebird", flying over the ice rink, with speed and elegance. Today she hit all the musical notes, even during the victory ceremony I could not stop but notice how every step that she makes is on the musical notes!

Today is the day when technique combined with amazing artistry won a competition, and this is what FS is about.

Congratulations Anya

Congratulations to the most beautiful firebird on winning SA!

Anna makes me so happy :luv17:

I think one the things I love the most about her (outside of her off ice humility which is extreme) is that she's so sincere in expressing herself? She's an amazing performer, but when she's upset/disappointed (like after SP) you can really feel it (and it breaks my heart), and same with her happiness, it radiates.

Anya's message after the win

My debut at the senior Grand Prix
I want to give huge THANKS to my coaches! Eteri Georgievna, Daniil Markovich, Sergey Viktorovich, you are the best ♥ ️ Thank you for your support and faith in me!
And of course, thanks to Las Vegas for the unforgettable welcome

Congratulations from Daniil

Yes! Congratulations to Anna Shcherbakova and our entire team for winning the gold medal at the Skate America Grand Prix! Thanks to everyone who was awake and was rooting for us❤️

Well past midnight in Las Vegas now, which as Sin City probably never sleeps at night, quite the opposite most likely, but only for adults ;-)

Anna will sleep with her Gold Medal under her pillow, exhausted after doping control and some media obligations probably.
Tomorrow, the Gala is at 1400 local time, so after a late breakfast Anna will have perhaps a short walk of the Strip in good company. Is Diana D with her mother for the weekend?

After the gala there is some more time to do a little sight seeing with her parents, taking in the wonders of Las Vegas, before the banquet. Tomorrow back to Moscow most likely, often at an ungodly hour.

Perhaps EG or DM will fly directly to Canada later, to welcome Aleksandra Trusova on arrival day.

There will be lots of press releases and perhaps some more interviews with Anna once she's back in Moscow.

At Skate America, she was quite articulate in English and her answers were well formulated, and a few endearing giggles that show she is still a child.

Anna being Anna the way I think of her, she'd probably rehearsed the most likely answers with her friends or coaches, and the slightly tacky K&C interviewer respected Anna's youth.
She has every reason to be proud over her live media appearance. It will only confirm her status, and makes her more interesting to the greater audience that isn't that much into FS and doesn't understand Russian.

Hopefully this will give Aleksandra and Alyona also the incentive to try giving their ISU interviews alone and in English.

There was another interview cut short because Anna had to collect her medal. And did the USFS team also interview hea? Our Fearless Firebird shouldn't be afraid of a desk of presenters who were and are very appreciative of Anna in their live previews and resumes. These are professionals who will treat a 15 year old Gold Medalist with all respect.

I may be echoing what others have said but even though Anna's quad lutzes one with a triple toe combo were truly beautiful and extraordinary, it is Anna's smooth speed, expressive artistry, musicality, erect posture, and attention to detail and extension in every movement with flexible spins and spirals that made her performance so marvelous and the switch to the fire red bird in the middle is such a nice surprise. There is a genuine humility colored with courage in her comeback that is really endearing and inspirational.
