Anna Shcherbakova

Well, despite what some people possibly think I believe Eteri cares for the health of her skaters, if for nothing else than for what it would cause for her if she would do otherwise. There were numerous cases in the past when she held a skater back after injury or other health problem. While the girls aren't passive in it, remember how Kamila herself explained that she begged Eteri to allow her to skate at JGPF last season when Eteri wanted to leave her home because of her previous injury.
I think she does too. But after hearing Daniil Gleichengauz saying she's the best nutritionist, and remembering Alena Kostornaia's saying she commended not to have dinner after 6PM (and I understand their training lasts after that hour) while all sports nutritionists say an athlete must have a protein-rich and carbohydrate-adapted meal a short time after a strong practice or a competition, I got to wonder if she was not a bit overconfident in her capacity in handling her skaters' health, maybe with "old recipes" which sufficed before the ultra-C era, but maybe not anymore.
Sorry if this is not the right thread.
But tonight, while I feel relieved Anna Shcherbakova could skate her SP, I am really, really afraid of her risking long-term effects if she proceeds into FS. Anyway we will see (not me, maybe; I'm already unable to watch her SP).

I hate to say this but I hope she withdraws.. her smelling salts before skating is disturbing since she has been so sick lately + her gasping of air. Health to Anya. I agree. Anna was a fighter last night but participating in the FP would put too much pressure on her body.

Do you understand it was a joke?

OK, I didn't keep my promise, I had to watch Anna. As a complete atheist I say Anna is a goddess!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :love2::love2::love2::love2::love2::love2::love2::love2:
:cheer::party2::dance3::clap::thank::rock::bsplit:
It's time to become an Agnostic at the very least! Anna has something in her that is hard to describe. Today was a performance of the ages for her.

When she won nationals the first time I was disappointed for Sasha and aliona and then Anna gradually won me over and I think she's done that to a lot of people. Anna is just amazing and so strong to follow Sasha and Kamilas great performances with one of their own when she's not feeling well coming off pneumonia is Supernatural.

Tutberidze on Shcherbakova's victory at the Russian Championship: “The word that unites everything is overcoming. This is a heroic deed "

From: https://www.sports.ru/figure-skatin...edinyayushhee-vse-preo.html?from=main-news-fs

Coach Eteri Tutberidze commented on the performance of her wards Anna Shcherbakova and Kamila Valieva at the Russian Figure Skating Championship.

Shcherbakova won, Valieva took second place.

“The word that unites everything that happened is overcoming. For me, it was overcoming the physical and moral state, because it pressed - it was difficult for us.

We are glad, this is a big compensation for the work done, for the nerves that we spent a little.

For Ani, this is a heroic act. I would also like to mention Kamila, who also gathered her nerves. Both showed the best rentals of the season.

We decided to watch Anya to the last: training, warm-up, the state before the rental. Yesterday, before the short one, there was such a state that I understood: we cannot pass an arbitrary program like this, my head was spinning, it was not good.

We probed, tried to talk to my (her?) mother, and to convince Anya that it was not necessary. Probably, this is about sports, ”said Tutberidze on the air of Channel One.

Do you understand it was a joke?
Was it? Really? If it was, and particularly if they get nutritionist advice, then phew!
I had seen medics around the team at some championships but these words by Daniil Gleichengauz, who as far as I know is a reliable person, had worried me because this no-dinner policy may prevent proper recovery of strained muscles for instance. Now I can hope they have changed it.
Anyway I am quite happy of Anna Shcherbakova's third title in a row. In such a "deep field" as Russian Ladies, this is not a small prowess.

Congrats to Anna on threepeating as Russian National Champion! I can't believe she did what she did considering the circumstances. She is a warrior. The top four skates were World Championship/Olympic level. Will be watching this performance in the years to come.

Congratulations to the three time Russian National Senior champion!!!! :cheer:

I hope she never changes her incredible humble personality. She got that LOOK on her face as she started the StSq, that look of I know I just nailed all my jumps, I've only ever seen it once before - at her first RusNats win! When she completed her final spin there, that amazing LOOK, and then after less than a second it was back to her normal easy going self. What a lady. :tantrum:

Anna I have no words today. I only wish you a continued recovery from any health issues. Thank you for being such an incredible person and skater.
