I wish somebody would translate this properly!

maybe not quite properly, but I tried:

Q: Anya, hello!

A: Hello

Q: What does your ideal weekend morning look like?

A: Sleep until 11 o'clock, I guess. Wake up with the feeling that I'm in no hurry, there is nothing planned, calmly have breakfast, take a walk. That is, this is a calm morning, without any worries at all, because I probably feel calmer when there is nothing planned on the schedule

Q: I'm sorry, but today your morning will start with us.

A: [smiling].

Q: Can you remember the morning when you realized that you woke up famous?

A: N-no, it was definitely not that sharp. After the competition, sometimes there is a moment that you wake up and you need a few more hours [to read on the Internet] who wrote, who congratulated, or noted somewhere, see all this - at this moment, of course, yes, you feel a huge return from the fans and so then, when it just takes a lot of time to see everyone, notice - at these moments you can feel it, of course. But something so sharp, or in ordinary life, it is not particularly felt.

Q: You have quite a lot of filming. What surprises you in this process so far?

A: Yes, probably nothing surprises anymore, on the whole I got used to everything.

Q: How do you feel about being recognized?

A: At competitions, at some performances, shows, you are always ready for the fact that after the performances some children or figure skating fans will meet you there. On the one hand, you are always ready for this, on the other hand ... You can’t get used to this, it seems to me, when you leave the performance and there is a huge crowd, where they look at you with such a breath, I still can’t believe it a little, maybe. And in ordinary life this does not happen so often, therefore, that is, I have no problem that I cannot go somewhere because everyone there recognizes me. There is no such thing, so in ordinary life it somehow does not really affect.

Q: Was it such that you recognized someone, but hesitated to approach?

A: Yes, it happens. But if I see in my ordinary life some actors, performers, I, it seems to me ... It is very difficult for me to come up and say there: "Can I take a picture?" - I somehow feel uneasy, or something. I don't know why (laughs). About what I know, for example, that I am often embarrassed to approach - I often see, for example, small children who are also standing not far from me and their mother whispers to them: “Come on, come, come to her” - sometimes I really understand these children and take everything into my own hands: “Hello, how are you”, I go up, take pictures and somehow feel calmer. It happens that mothers there also bring their children: "Stand up straight, do it like this" - and as I understand this little man who may be shy or does not really understand what is happening at all.

[Pause]

Q: What TV show are you currently watching?

A: Well, it can't be called watching ... I'm going to watch. When everyone around was discussing this "Squid Game", which ... Actually, the whole Internet, everything turns out, they discussed at the rink, and I ... I'm ashamed, but I rarely watch something, and I told my mother: "Mom, there is such TV series". She loves to see something and I [said] "Watch and tell me what you think." She started watching, then she comes out, says: "Something boring some [TV series], nothing happens there, you won't like it." I say: "Did they start killing there?" [She replies] "No", I "Then try to watch more, it will start soon." She says "Okay." Well, I’m still gathering my strength to start watching, I don’t know if I will like it or not.

next part:

Q: And when you watch movies or TV shows, do you imagine yourself in the place of the characters?

A: Well, probably, yes, I, it is important for me that if I watched, then I should really like this series or film and the story ... I somehow have to immerse myself completely in the plot. And, probably, live with the characters. The story should become as if something a little familiar for the duration of the viewing. That's when it's interesting for me to watch. You think to yourself: “How to do it”, you think “Why, why [she] didn't do it” or “Do it like that”. Therefore, I look only at what causes such a response.

Q: Kamila said she would go to karaoke with you. Which song would you choose?

A: So I heard what she said ‘Don’t worry be happy’. We even had a local karaoke in the locker room for this song ... [pause] What else did we include? [recalls]

Q: Who sings the best?

A: Definitely not me! For that, probably, "all together in karaoke" is still suitable, separately definitely not about me. But I will support Kamila's choice.

Q: Whose concert would you like to be backstage at?

A: I don’t have any artists that I’m just a fan of right now. But I guess it seems to me to look at the concert behind the scenes very interesting, how it happens from the inside. Therefore, probably at any concert. I also realized that it would be interesting to look at ballet performances, because, for example, on the Internet I followed one ballerina, a girl, and she seemed to show this life a little from the inside. And when you see this beautiful picture from the outside, and then what they say, what happens behind the scenes, how they prepare for it. It is somewhat similar, perhaps, to what is happening there, like training and competition. Therefore, it is interesting to see some kind of backstage life.

Q: So you don't have enough of your own?

A: Well, somehow you kind of understand that this is inside figure skating, and sometimes you forget that it’s the same for everyone and now you look and just find out something in common, it’s very interesting to compare it and here to emphasize that where are similar some moments ...

[pause]

next part:

Q: Imagine: you come to a banquet or a party and see a girl in the same dress as yours. What are you doing?

A: I'm leaving to change (laughs). Do not know…

Q: I thought you were going to ask her to leave.

A: [Laughs] Well, no, if such a desperate situation, then you can probably just come up, talk about it, maybe take a picture there together and somehow turn it into something more funny than worry about it. But somehow it happened that I found out in advance that one girl would have the same dress as mine, and I prepared in advance - I put on another one, because, probably, somehow I would not want to all the same ...

Q: An item that you didn't buy and now regret it?

A: For me it is rather the other way around: there are things that I bought and now regret it. If I want to buy something, I will buy it. It happens that when I choose, it seems that I really want this, and this, and this, and then you think: "It’s not clear where I should go to all of this now." There is such a thing.

Q: When was the last time you paid in cash?

A: When I was little, I guess. Now, in general, even more so ... well, everything is through the phone. At some point, I realized how completely dependent on the phone. When I was at some other end of Moscow alone and I had to order a taxi to get home, I realized that my phone was running low. The phone is discharged - this means that you can neither pay nor call a taxi - in general, everything is on the phone and you understand how completely dependent on this is that everything is there. Call someone even ... It will be discharged, you will not ask anyone for help, that is, everything, everything, everything is on the phone.

Q: What if the Internet disappears forever?

A: Catastrophe ... I don't know, I can't imagine, probably already life without the Internet, well, because one way or another, probably, now any person is completely dependent on it and it will be very difficult to readjust.

next part:

Q: Is there a photo you like the most?

A: Probably, it's difficult to name one ... Well, there are several favorites, probably ... probably, well, somehow from different spheres of life. There is, perhaps, some favorite there from the podium, there are, perhaps, favorites at the competition. There is, perhaps, just a beloved, where I like it, where I turned out beautifully - my hair lies beautifully, I put on beautiful makeup. Well, such a more girly version, well, as if with different moments, probably some of its own, which one likes the most.

Q: A hobby that you don't have enough time for?

A: Well, probably, it’s not so much a lack of time, maybe even an opportunity. When we, for example, have a summer vacation, then at this time I always know that I will do a lot of things, which I definitely do not do throughout the year. I try to fly with a trapeze, water skiing, this year I jumped with a parachute ... Well, that is, some kind of entertainment, activities that, probably, during the season I have neither the strength nor the time. Well, maybe there is not even a desire, when everything seems to be aimed at training. And here, when you are completely distracted, I generally like to try something.

Q: Would you like to fly a helicopter [as a pilot]?

A: Yes

Q: Three things you don't leave home without?

A: Phone ... Probably only with a phone I can leave the house. Well, if I just go for a walk, as is usually the case, in everyday life I still have a backpack filled with a bunch of things with me. And my mother always says to me: “Leave this backpack, it's enough to carry such a huge one with you,” but somehow it's so convenient for me that everything is always with me ...

[Pause]

Q: What is the main thing that I learned about yourself over the past year?

A: That my point of view is changing very quickly, probably ... I am constantly changing my opinion. That is, I, for example, usually do not review my interviews, because I know that literally in a month I will already think differently, I will look [and think]: “Why did I say that? I should have answered differently "or" Why did I say that? In general, it should have been different. " Probably, I began to notice this for myself more and more often, especially in the last year, that I may constantly be learning something new, my opinion about something is changing and something like that. I just grow up and my outlook on life changes, or maybe I'm just so fickle that everything is all the time for me ... I don't know ... it's difficult, well, I probably associate it with the fact that I'm growing up and learn more about something, and probably from this is changing more ...

next part:

Q: Does it happen that you can't afford to be yourself?

A: Not so much I cannot afford, I often notice behind myself that I am adjusting to the situation, to the people somehow. It seems to me that for me, on the contrary, it is natural that I can be alone with friends, another with adults, somehow I change a little, but this is not because I deliberately decide that I need to be like this here. Somehow it turns out by itself.

Q: What is trait that you still lack?

A: Often in some new environment I notice that there is not enough more openness. It is very difficult for me to come up to get to know someone and calmly begin to communicate, that is, I am very open and sociable with those whom I know well - this is with friends, with family, but it is always very difficult to communicate with someone whom I am not know, make acquaintance. This is where I’m need to directly override myself and try to be more open and sociable.

Q: When was the last time you found yourself in such a situation?

A: Well, not too long ago. I met just the same with friends, but I came, it turns out, a little earlier and ended up in a new company. And so I directly felt that I had come like this: "Hello everyone" and that it was quite difficult for me to somehow approach myself and start communicating. I noticed that there are many who themselves approach you. They don't know you, but absolutely openly communicate there calmly. And now I even envy it a little. I try to fully support this, this conversation and not lag behind in this sense, try as well, and then, when those whom I already know come, you gradually recognize everyone and already become so open and sociable, I change. I would like it right away.

Q: Ever kept a diary?

A: Yes, but it was probably a moment when I was younger, and then it was such that I decided for myself that I needed to start keeping a diary. I made some first entry, put a date, wrote that now I decided that I would keep a diary, then six months later, now I tried to keep a diary again, the next entry was six months later, well, that is, probably, so he abandoned gradually ... For a while, I kept it straight for a long time, and then I took notes six months later, a year later, and somehow I gradually left this business.

next part:

Q: What is the best advice your mom gave you?

A: Probably not so much advice as for me the opinion of my mother is very important in general, that is, I often consult with her on some issues. It is very important for me that she always gives me the opportunity to make my choice and at the same time supports me in it, that is, it is very important for me that I do not do what she wants, but so that I myself understand what I need to I myself made a decision. At the same time, her support is always very important to me, that she kind of approves of something that I decided to do.

Q: Dad in this regard is stricter, more disciplined than mom?

A: Dad, probably not, maybe even more initiative. Therefore, he himself can still propose. For example, the same parachute jump - perhaps I would not have dared, because that is, I may have wanted to, but somehow it’s impossible to say that I directly took all the initiative into my own hands, such “I will go, I will jump” ... It was more of his idea. He suggested: "Here, you want to jump." He also often comes up with something himself - let's do this, do that. Probably, he takes the initiative himself somehow.

Q: Is there a place outside the house where you feel comfortable?

A: Well, skating rink, I think that "Khrustalny", I've been there since I was three years old, I already know every corner there, the dressing room for me is like something dear, well, that is, I know absolutely everything there, and so ... well, yes, probably, these are the places where I spend ... The night, it turns out, at home, all day at the rink, it turns out - and so all my life. (laughs)

Q: What are you doing to distract yourself?

A: Distract…. Well, there are different ways. It happens that if I am very tired and I also want to relax physically, then I often just want to be alone, just to recover, probably to take a break from everything. Sometimes, if I get very tired in training, then I even want to shut up and in complete silence I can calmly recover with myself. And it happens that it is necessary to disconnect from training, then, on the contrary, some kind of active rest helps. It is also there to meet with friends, just take a walk and forget about school, figure skating and just some kind of business, disconnect from this, but here, on the contrary, a more active kind of rest helps.

Q: What do you do when you can't sleep?

A: I am reading a book (laughs). It was one time, I remember when we flew in for the first time I had a competition in Canada, where there was another change of time zones and I could not sleep, but it was still necessary before the competition, and all that came to my mind was get it to read a book.

Q: Did it work?

A: Well, yes, after a while.

[Pause]

last part:

Q: What's your most memorable culinary experiment?

A: There was a moment when I was desperately trying to make cookies according to some recipe, which all the time grew together into one large cookie. This is probably the most desperate experiment ever. When every time I was sure that this time it will definitely work out. There was clearly some mistake in the recipe, but every time I believed in it.

Q: In general, I often manage to cook, or after that unsuccessful experiment I thought about it.

A: Well, much less often now. And before often, well, that's exactly something delicious for some holidays there. My mom taught me to cook her own cake, let's say.

Q: Tell us about your mom's signature cake.

A: Smetannik. Very, very tasty. Very, very greasy. Here. Well, I probably did it more often before, but now it is somehow rather rare. I can cook scrambled eggs there in the morning, but this is not a culinary achievement.

Q: If life is a box of chocolates, which ones?

A: [Thinks] From chocolate, it seems to me that I am somehow not very addicted, I love ice cream very much ... Probably let it be life more like ice cream (laughs).

Q: How many bears do you have?

A: [Thinking] It will be strange if I say any specific number. I think it will be ... I don't know ... more than a hundred? This is something incredible, I think, because almost from every start, when we bring this huge pile separately, there is nowhere to seat them. Well, I think that perhaps there are more than a hundred, yes, these bears, just certain ones.

Q: Do they have names?

A: [Laughs] Vanya, Sasha, Kolya, Petya ... Well, well, no.

Q: If not for the bears, then who?

A: Bears! Let there be bears.

Q: With what feelings do you fly to Turin?

A: Probably with anticipation, like any competition, especially at the beginning of the season. Somehow you wait for them more, more in this ... You still get out of the habit during the offseason and every year you still come to the competition with this new childish feeling ... Well, yes, probably with anticipation.

Q: What are the plans, besides pasta, and, as we found out, ice cream?

A: Well, of course, it's good to perform in competitions. Probably, this is still the main purpose of my trip there. And so, if we consider it outside the competition, then, well, I would probably like to go for a walk around the city ... In principle, I can afford pasta before the competition, with ice cream it is more difficult - it will probably be after all.

Q: Anya, cool, thank you very much, the main thing is that you have a great mood in Turin, everything else is not so important.

A: Thank you very much.

I'm joining the thanks for your translation! :thank:

Anna's skate with korean commentary:

My non-translation input: The commentators don't give many subjective comments (this is true no matter who skates), primarily describing the elements as she performs them, but express that they are impressed by the execution especially on the 4F and 3Lz-3Lo, and the (I don't know how to say it in English) "acting" (it means something like interpretation?) and performance.

(we can't all be translating heroes like Alex Fedorov ;) )

Thank you for your kind words. I have been reading this forum since spring and have seen more than once people encounter language barriers. Anna speaks English much better than me, but she, quite naturally, does not always use this language).
