Anna Shcherbakova

part 2:

The next question is very hard to hear, but the meaning is more or less clear: Anna is asked why she was given so many points, although she fell from a quadruple, and made other mistakes, as well as whether it is fair that she was selected for the Olympics, and not others skaters:

Anna: It's not me who will go to the Olympics. My business is to go out on the ice and skate. I have not yet seen my gifts, nor those of other girls (I suspect that these are not gifts, but points for components). I have nothing to compare here and nothing to talk about. Thus, I see no point in commenting something here. I do my job, the judges do theirs, and it doesn't depend on me.

Next question: Kamila, you got twenty six tenths today ...

Sasha (to Kamila):
What is twenty six tenths?

Kamila (to Sasha): I don't know ...

Anna (to Kamila): (explains something about the components)

Continuation of the question: What will Mark Kondratyuk say, whom you have not caught up with by just one point?

(girls laugh)

Kamila: I think he will survive. Well, first of all ... Something you stunned me ... (laughs). As Anya already said, my job is to go out on the ice and skate, and what the judges give me ... (laughs)

Press conference presenter: firstly, the line-up of the team has not yet been officially announced ...

Kamila: Yes, and it will ...

Presenter: It will be officially announced after the European Championship ...

Continuation of the question: Anything else?

Kamila:
no, that's all. I do not even know what to say…

Presenter: about the level of refereeing ... Everyone should mind their own business. The girls do their job, the judges do theirs.

The next question: don't you think that Kamila is disingenuous when she says that she has not yet reached her peak?

Presenter:
you are asking the question not to Kamila, but to Sasha. Dmitry, this is the second time you are asking an incorrect question. Kamila is here, and you ...

(Sasha's dog suddenly begins to squeak loudly, everyone flinches)

Kamila (to the dog): very cool!

Sasha (to the dog): Well done!

Presenter: this is the answer to Dmitry.

Next question: Kamila, you said "almost maximum". What would be the full maximum?

Kamila:
Well, that is, there is always something to strive for. According to my feelings today, in the state in which I was today, I went out on the ice - yes, I did my best. But the way I skate in training [indicates] that I can do better. I will strive for this.

Next question: Sasha, you missed a lot of time (again it is hard to hear, but it is clear that we are talking about the possible impact of the injury)

Sasha:
I didn't skate for three weeks, didn't go out on the ice at all, then (the dog squeaks again) more than a month ago I returned to the skating rink. I just skated for a while. Then she started jumping, gradually recovering.

Presenter: Let’s ask two more questions, otherwise it’s already quite late.

Next question: Congratulations on the successful completion of the competition! Your names are now known all over the world. They have become synonymous with talent, victories, pride, joy. Today you can say “absolutely perfect girl”, or you can replace this expression with “Anna Shcherbakova”, you can say “the first in the world”, or replace this expression with “Alexandra Trusova”, you can say (something about ballet), or replace on "Kamila Valieva". Therefore, I want to ask why you were given exactly such names. And also - do you know about the origin of your surnames. If you know about it - please share with us.

Kamila:
After the free program, we are probably not ready to answer such questions ...

Sasha: my parents liked the name Alexander, and they called me Alexandra. I don’t know about the last name. It's all.

Kamila: No, I'm not ready ... I can say something wrong, it's better not to say anything.

Anna: I don't even know ... I don't know ...

Next question: Congratulations on the completion of the Russian Championship, on the successful selection for the European Championship. The question is this: the first Olympic champion from the Tutberidze team, Yulia Lipnitskaya, climbed an impromptu podium for five years and imagined that she would receive a gold medal at the Olympics. How do you imagine the Olympics even before you came to this competition? I would like to hear the answer not only from the dog Alexandra Trusova.

Kamila:
Let's do it this way: we live in this moment, in this second, and there is still no point in thinking about the Olympics even now, when it is so close. We will work and prepare - for now, for the European Championship. Well, that's it.

Presenter: Let's have one last question, because it's already quite late

Next question: Congratulations on your medals, Kamila on the first place. The question is very short: apparently, to Anna Shcherbakova - (again illegible, something about another bear).

Anna (didn't hear the question, Kamila tells her):
I'll take it home, like the rest of the bears. Mom and I have already discussed how many new shelves I should hang in order to find a place for all the new bears that were thrown to me at this championship. So I want to use this opportunity to thank all my fans for always supporting me so much and for putting on such a teddy fall after each performance. Thanks to them!

Presenter: come on, radio of Russia, the last question, that's all

Next question: congratulations on your victory at the Russian Championship, as well as Happy New Year. The impressions from the championship are so vivid that you have to drink sedatives. All foreign athletes saw how long our bench is. Three years ago, in Saransk, when figure skaters were leaving the ice, passing through a crowd of fans, no one could have imagined that another young generation of athletes would grow up so quickly in our country. You are calm about the fact that those who are still competing for juniors are already breathing in the back of your head - after all, they will soon become competitors for you. And another festive question - where will you rest, how will you relieve yourself of emotions after this competition?

Kamila:
Competition is always good in all sports. Probably, it even stimulates when you know that next season there will be new girls on the ice who have quads, triple axels. That is, my task is to continue working, to maintain myself at a high level. This year I will most likely be celebrating the New Year in Moscow. I wanted to visit my relatives in Kazan, but this year it is undesirable to travel somewhere once again, so I will stay in Moscow and walk with my dog (laughs). I will try to distract myself from figure skating as much as possible, but I really want to visit the open skating rink at VDNKh, or in Gorky Park.

Sasha: About new girls - I agree with Kamila. Most of the new promising girls are in our group, and I see that they even have a different attitude to quadruple jumps. For them it was just the norm, but for us it was something new. I will celebrate the New Year at home, with my family and with a huge number of dogs.

Anna: You remembered the Russian championship in Saransk and, as Sasha said, a lot has changed since then. At that moment, when we jumped quadruples, it seemed incredible, but now it has become normal. I would like to continue to be at the same level, to keep in good shape. I will try to spend the maximum amount of time practicing quadruple jumps, increasing the complexity of the elements. And I will celebrate the New Year as usual - at home, with my family. The elder sister has finally arrived, we have not seen her for a long time. So I will be with my family, with my parents, sisters, cats and dogs.

(the dog squeaks again, everyone laughs)

Presenter: girls, with a victory, with medals, Happy New Year!
Thank you so much Alex! We should invent a new word for thanking your effort you keep making for us! :)

I'm sorry it was difficult for you. I only appreciate your efforts that much more. I really, really enjoyed reading this! I'm sending you some virtual flowers. 💐🌷🌹🌺🌸🌼🌻🌾🪴
Love the flowers idea, so I'll join in with some stars: ⭐🌟🌠💫✨🌃 Thank you @Alex Fedorov! :thank:

P.S. Does anyone know if there is a merit badge for translations? If so, Alex definitely deserves one!

We haven't seen 4T from Anna since she broke her leg which has not been 4-ish years now. I'm sure they have a good reason for not doing it but I wonder what that is. I do remember she landed rather hard in those old videos.

I wonder if anyone asked her about doing "easier quads".. I can't remember..

What's going on here??
This is an excerpt from the TV broadcast immediately after the end of the free skating. I didn’t notice if it was in an online YouTube broadcast. The question was: "Some people say that it is a bad sign to give an interview to the first channel before the competition." The question was not addressed to Anna, but to Tutberidze, who is simply not visible in this passage, she is to the right.

He wanted to say - the bad sign was not confirmed, since the first three places were taken by figure skaters from Sambo-70. But Eteri replied that she gave this interview not before the Russian Championship, but before the Grand Prix final, and thus the sign was fully confirmed - the competition was canceled.

part 2:

The next question is very hard to hear, but the meaning is more or less clear: Anna is asked why she was given so many points, although she fell from a quadruple, and made other mistakes, as well as whether it is fair that she was selected for the Olympics, and not others skaters:
What an incredibly dumb question to ask. I really hope Anya will not suffer from all this toxicity after Nationals. And most importantly, that she will show on Euros that she belongs to Olympic team. :cheer:

I'm sorry Anna has been getting dumped on so much since the free skate at Russian nationals and people outrage that she finished 3rd. Why does no one from Anna's camp explain the reasons why she still scores so high not skating her best? Why is there no discussion about her 2 difficult programs her difficult transitions adtistdy interpretation and musicicality? That's where she can separate herself from others even if others do ultra jumps and Anya does not.

Also this is her 1st chance at the Olympic team just like with sasha and KV. Liza has had 3 chances to make the Olympic team and has not and I have my doubts whether Anna Sasha and Kamila will get a second chance because of the numbers game in Russia and because the old goats that run figure skating refuse to allow more more entries into a certain discipline dominated by one country.

I mean the gp season would be so much better if a country got rewarded for dominating the GP season to create an extra spot or 2 for that country in an Olympics or worlds or Europeans. But they do nothing in this sport decades skaters interested past the age of 18 in a discipline that's supremely dominated by one country. Is having an extra spot or 2 would not be the end of the world. And you would have to earn it
