I've always respected Plushenko very much. But it would be better if he kept his mouth shut than open it for such statements. What he said was not the words of one of the greatest skaters of all time. These are not the words of a promising coach. These are the words of a f****ng a****ole, and this is still a mild assessment - I just don't know how to write some Russian expressions in English.

It remains to be hoped that he himself will understand this and regret what he has said. Although I'm should not expect an apology from him in any case - for this he has too much ego.

There are many reasons Plushenko should not have opened his mouth and opened this can of worms. How it could hurt a very sensitive girl in Anna is real. This could come back to haunt Plushies girls and hes got 4 super girls coming up. Can you imagine if EG went on the attack against one of his girls? It would be the end of the world!

We can argue where Anna should have finished or where Liza should have finished but why do Anna's coaches not come out and say this is why she scored this amount of points? People only look at the ultra jumps and don't see all the things in between from the beginning to end of the programs where Anna's programs are very complex and very difficult to do even without a quad. But nobody says a thing and she just gets pummeled from all corners. It's ridiculous.

the vitriol in the Russian federation and among the teams is sad.

I can only hope Anna is is feeling better and skating better at Europeans.

It's pretty crazy that 3 national titles in a row and the current world champion is given no slack and no respect.

I would imagine theirs is a policy of not discussing scores in public. And ultimately, they didn't score Anna, so they are not the ones to explain the scoring. But given the vitriol of the ad hominem attack (assuming this translation is accurate), maybe they should post a statement in collaboration with a PR company.

Well, not so different from the following article with Bestemianova. Not so harsh either in my opinion, I was expecting much worse!
At least we can agree that we have exactly the same mess now as before the COP/TES/PCS reform...
Anyway I must have missed something because I have no problem with the final result (except SS who in my opinion was the best junior). EP's and NB's articles are typical of what figure skating has become, they only talk about ultra c elements and quads... I am more down-to-earth: which program was the most beautiful? by which program was I moved most?

He was very negative to Anna said she does not deserve the scores she does not deserve to go to the Olympics. He took up for Liza. I guess it's a hatred for EG. There was no need for it doesn't involve him at all.

It's funny how Mishin skaters get all the breaks all these years especially with the men. But with the women it's not that easy because Liza keeps running into the girls of TT and she has been getting beaten by TT girls non stop since Zhenya hit the scene in 2016.

I expect Anna to be better at Europeans but it really all depends on her knee. Keep your fingers crossed for her. She does not deserve this hatred a d vitriolic criticism coming at her and from a Russian legend too in Plushy.

Anna came into this season clearly as the number one Russian lady and now we're supposed to be believed she's number 3 hanging on by a thread? After 1 or 2 events it was obvious KV was number Anna went to number 2 and number 3 was wide open between Sasha and Liza and others. Sasha is now supposedly number 2 so people want Liza and Anna skate off. If sasha is number 2 because of one good free skate at Russian nationals what the hell does Anna winning 3 nationals in a row and being the current world champion do for her? Absolutely nothing I guess.

Absolutely do that and they need a PR company to represent them. at TT.

I know this is Anna's 3rd season and we haven't had the GPF the last 2 seasons because of covid but how many gp events has she entered and won? Has she entered 6 and won all 6?

She’s won 4. (Skate America 2019, Cup of China 2019, GP Italy 2021, and IDF 2021) Plus, the GPF silver from 2019. Last year, (where skaters could only compete in 1 GP event) she was going to compete at Rostelecom Cup, but got sick on the day of the SP and withdrew.

So Anna has won 4 out of 5 GPFs? That's very good. It's just more ammunition for this girl and more proof that she should be on the Olympic team.
