Any Sasha updates?

At least Sasha is making headlines and keeping us guessing. She seems to be serious about nationals, so I choose to believe her. I am a fan of her skating and would love to see her new programs. She will definitely draw some much needed limelight to skating this Olympics if she makes it. I am rooting for her and hoping for a fab comeback. It was disappointing when she pulled out the GP events, but she must have felt that it was what she needed to do to fully prepare herself for U.S. nationals. I'm sure Nicks is helping to guide her in these decisions as well.

Lol, no, though Mr. Yet this guy is such a devoted fan he admits to only being a Sasha Fan, doesn't post anywhere else, and has been on SashaFans since 2005 with no where near the posts of others. He doesn't have "diarrhea of the mouth", lol, which I also admire.

MK had PLENTY of MKFers stand by her even when she had to pull out of Torino, no matter how painful it was for them you didn't see any of them turn on her. It really surprised me that so many of Cohen's "fans" seemed to turn on her to the point where they seemingly resented her for "leading them on". That seems to me like "fair-weather fan" behavior. Ironically, it seems many of her true fans post elsewhere (i.e. here at GS), judging by the number of posters continuing to defend her day in and day out.

I'm actually kinda right now...it's come from "RD is the biggest Sasha fan" back in the Kwan days to "RD is an anti-Sasha troll" - I just can't win. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. truth must be somewhere in the middle

Anyway, I shouldn't be shocked at any of this. It's the OLY season and tensions ALWAYS seem to run at a fever-high pitch this time of the year...I remember many MK fans getting all testy over Hughes replacing her and some of the criticisms MK got. I find myself getting similar feelings about Cohen potentially swooping in and taking a spot from one of our skaters who has worked hard this entire cycle. Maybe my emotions get the best of me in this Oly season and maybe that's the basis for posts like the one above. There was a post that explained in much calmer language my true feelings on the subject. If I can find it I'll cut and paste it here. If you still think it's "trolling" though I can't help you there. It's how I truly feel and I WILL NOT change my opinion just to suit you.

I don't even want to see what happens should Cohen show up and win Nationals...not to mention if Yuna Kim gets a questionable call and it ends up costing her the OGM...the boards (and Youtube) would implode...

That's my vote too, but I don't know if it's just wishful thinking....so Caroline, Mirai, and Ashley don't end up going to Junior Worlds AGAIN

FYI - Red Dog is one of the most respected, honest, and passionate fans on this site. Its insulting to read your post when he is simply vocalizing the opinions of many. Furthermore, Golden Skate is general skating forum that caters to a diverse fan base. You might want to check out a fan-focused site if your expectation is that all posters must worship where you worship. We do not and that's what makes Golden Skate the best forum on the net... (until the real trolls pop up out of the ground...)

As for RD being hostile to Sasha and her fans... please. He's mellowed in his old age... your fragile emotional state would not been able to handle him in 2006.

I don't worship anyone. I have criticized some of Sasha's choices. That's called objectivity.

So let's see. Sasha fans get blasted for criticizing her pulling out of events. Then they get blasted for being "mindless worshippers." That makes no sense at all, until you understand the real point behind it -- tearing down Sasha Cohen fans every way you possibly can.

This is so funny . And Sasha already "gracefully" left the skating scene which is why I'm confused. She has an Olympic silver medal, nothing to sneeze at. I heard Sasha has a plan to beat Yuna at the Olympics though....curious to see that . Sasha has never failed to entertain me through the years

Oh, Dee... stop it. Calling people Trolls, despite disagreeing with their positions is not how we get down on GS... Its like what people used to tell me all the time: this isn't a fan-specific site and you need to either a) argue with them or b) give them an opportunity to change their minds, c) suck it up or d) ignore them but you couldn't and shouldn't name call because it wasn't tolerated. No, I didn't say honest passion - I said honest AND passionate. There's a difference...

But I don't see how Sasha's FANS have been blasted or Sasha's FANS have been torn down. From where I sit, Sasha AND her fans get off easy... not like us long-suffering Kwan fans for whom no one cares for...
