When it's over 50, it's recommended to wear a mask, close your windows and stay indoors. Good you didn't go too far out.I went to walk to my local pizza place, three blocks from my house. I take back about it not being that bad. The smoke is dense enough to cover the top of really tall trees a block away, the acrid smell is very strong, and now my throat hurts.
this is at 190. I cannot imagine the cities surrounding the Great Lakes now at the levels posted by @4everchan
I'd actually never heard of an AQI or that it was something I could look up. My education has expanded. At the moment, it's 42 in Richmond, BC. Something new to look for in addition to "Is it going to rain today?" (Silly question here. Of course it is.When it's over 50, it's recommended to wear a mask, close your windows and stay indoors. well.. that's my issue. I know where to find all of these things... and well, it get be triggering anxiety at times. Like.. oh my god.. my plants will burn, break because of the wind, my lungs will crash while I am swimming, there will be a power outage, how much microplastic have I ingested, will my dishwasher detergent kill me or I will catch a virus for which I am fully vaccinated against. etc.I'd actually never heard of an AQI or that it was something I could look up.
