Barrel Jumping

In another thread the issue of the back flip being tolerated in armature competitions was addressed. It made me think of barrel jumping. I vaguely remember it as a kid. Do any of you remember? We it seems the “art” of barrel jumping is all but dead. It’s kind of sad, ain’t it?

I remember barrel jumping!
Does anyone remember Michael Verlich?
He and different partners finished as high as the bronze medal at US Nationals in ice dance. As part of the exhibition, Michael used to do barrel jumping.
