Hi, I'm a semi-intermediate skater (landing all doubles but 2lz, working on axel technique). For the past year or so I've been skating on Coronation Ace Revolution blades which I'd bought second-hand from a low-level synchro skater who didn't use them much. I mostly like them, or at least did until a certain moment; I feel my toe-pick jumps are very easy on them, edge switching is easy, it's spins I struggle with. While I easily get revolutions and centering on the more basic spins (sit, broken leg, scratch, backspin), it's the upright spins that I find really difficult to control on these blades.
Well, last week, I had a small defect with my boot and had to send them to the skate shop to get them fixed, so my friend borrowed me her old skates, in my exact size, but with the Coronation Ace Lite blade. I was skeptical, because even though they theoretically are branches of the same blade (Coronation Ace), they just look... flimsy, and tall. Still, I skated in them for two weeks, and I felt like a different skater. I didn't experience any of the "heaviness" the Revolutions sometimes gave me, immediately got my camel spin to spin, got my layback, and they just felt... buttery on the ice. However, picking jumps were significantly worse and I felt I was barely getting any dig into the ice.
My question is, what blade would combine the features of both these blades, were I to upgrade? My motions felt light and instinctive on the Lites, but the Revolutions feel amazing for jumping... any recommendations appreciated!
