An interesting article about Brian at Absolute Skating-"Getting over the disappointment, European bronze medallist Brian Joubert is looking at the future now. He found time to talk to us during the first part of the exhibition gala in Tallinn and besides his impressions about the Europeans he also talked about how important figure skating is in his life." http://www.absoluteskating.com/interviews/2010brianjoubert.html

He's very sensitive man.But also he's a great skater.I hope he will absolutely ready for the fight at the Olympics

Thanks for the link! I just glanced the text a little bit, since I really dislike reading Absolute Skating´s articles or interviews because of that big, extremenly bothersome logo...

Great article.

I just want to win the medal at the Olympic Game

A few years ago he had to win the olympic games. Reality has set in. I really would like to see him medal. He worked so hard and i don't think ever really lived up to his potential. He really has tried to improve her PCS and his spins and has become a more well-rounded skater, more, IMHO than plushenko.

Thank you for the link!

Love to read any tid bit about Joubert! Really wish he could skate well and get on the podium! From this interview, he hasn't decided yet whether he's going to put 4S in LP.(don't know if it was an old interview or not?) I hope he plays it safe and just do two 4T and two 3A as he said somewhere else.

I dont want to disbelieve joub but i wonder how he didnt know about the small medal ceremony, first it was always a ceremony the next day for all disciplines and he is not a newbie, and the analytical program was all over the hotel. I mean even I knew there was one in the break of ice dance. But i can understand his answer, what he should have said?anyway..
Also I find hard to believe he didnt know yagudin 's overcome. Maybe it is true I dunno, dont skaters look at other skaters programs or exhibitions, even the olympic ones?Plus his choreo in some part is almost identical, stavinski doesnt know the choreo of yag either?

Brian said that he wan't to win THE medal, not A medal.
I agree with you on the rest - the truth is, the CoP has really been a set-back for him.

The exhibition is nearly 8 years old. Even if they look at all programs & exhibitions, which I highly doubt, do you really think they remeber them after 8 years?
Everyone sees what he wants to see, if you want to see Yagudin's program in there, you'll see it.

Hmm, I agree. I think this is the same logic as in reputation scoring aka conditioning. Brian told many times he adores Yags so it must be that he copied his ex programme.
I have seen both programmes many times and I put a link below for Alexei's ex. There is absolutely nothing similar there apart from the transition in 3.10-3.15. I feel like most commenters are not really watching but simply commenting because they are conditioned to think this is a copy of Alexei's ex programme. In my opinion, both are great. Although Alexei is the absolute master of expressing emotions and making art on the ice and cannot be competed with, Brian interprets his own music cut with his style and with a near perfect skate technically, he could show a great LP. I think Maxim and Albena did a good job in developing Brian.

Thanks everyone for comments! In my opinion collaboration with Denkova/Staviski did a great job.Brian's choreography now looks really improved.

I m sorry I didnt want to sound negative, maybe we fans watch programs of skaters much more than they do. But some people still remember Torvill and Dean's bolero and everyone who skates to it is doomed to comparisson. More or less Overcome is the winning ex performance of Yagudin, it is normal I remember it. For me the beginning is the same, the heart thing is the same, the thing with the earth looks like the wall thing of yagudin. I have not said anything about Alexei copy in any other program I ve seen of Joub. This was just striking, plus the costume, plus the music.
It is like i watched the matrix program of a skater in euros, dont remember him, and had a flash back of Joub.

Hey, I didn't mean to be harsh to you Seniorita, my frustration was not directed to you! :):) My comment was actualy an overdue reply to the many comments I read since last September about Brian's LP being a copy of Yags' ex. Unfortunately I agree about the costume, apperently Albena chose the latest one in Euros (it's all in the jouby interview I posted in the Brian thread today) but its terrible similarity to Alexei's Man in the iron mask costume does not help at all. I really hope he changes it to the olympics, it does not bode well and opens doors to many unnecessary comparisons again.
Brian also commented on that Matrix programme you mentioned, it's in that interview as well. And guess what, he actually wanted to skate to Bolero. Now that would strike up a similarity to someone, whose name I couldn't help but mention in the nightmare Vancouver podium. That would've been actually too painfully funny.
PS: A belated thanks for posting the interview..

Lol i see me and Jouby think alike!
Where is the other interview?

It just looked to me like his approach to the Lp is out of the recently publiced Alexei: the 100 tips to be an Olympic Champion.
Sorry :p

His sp costume is quite nice though and the program rocks!

Ok, so here is the gist: You don't like Jouby's new LP but like his SP. I, on the other hand, don't like Plushy's SP but like the LP. I think we can still be friends!:laugh::laugh:
Or we can mould Jouby's Sp and Plushy's LP and create some kind of skating monster! Oh no, forget it, I really dislike this idea..
Here's the other interview through ggl translate, where he mentions Bolero, the new Matrix programme, his favourite pairs, costume choices, off the ice mates and being friends with Stephane..

I wish more skater interviews were conducted like this (meaning instead of same old same old, some interesting questions once in a while!)

Now i'm a huge Yagudin fan and loved his skating, but for me the exhibitions/galas hold very little to no interest. After a championship I don't watch the galas and only tune in to galas out of season when i'ev been starved of competitive skating being aired on TV. So as big a fan as I am of Yagudin I have never seen Overcome.

Basta. The other day in your review for artstic bambou you said it reminded you also the choreo of yag.:p Anyway it doesnt matter!

At first, I didn't like Brian's choice of this LP music because it reminded me too much of Yagudin so that I couldn't concentrate on Brian's skating. Somehow, I have accepted it. I do love this music and think it's really suitable for Brian. I like Brian's latest costume for his LP too. Can't Brian wear black with gold on top because Yagudin has worn that color?:p I think this costume is much better than the old one.

P.S. I think we fans sometimes are more familiar with the skaters' programs than the skaters know other skaters' programs. They are busy training while we are watching the samething over and over again. I believe what Brian said.

It did - the costume and choreography reminded me of Man in the Iron Mask!! Obviously it couldn't remind me of a programme i'd never seen :p

Of course I am

As another Yags fan, I find this unforgivable..:laugh:

I will have to look it up on youtube now....
