Maé-Bérénice Méité talks to Golden Skate about her come-back after being out for a torn Achilles tendon and what motivated her to return after the Olympic season and the challenges that she faced.

The 28-year-old shares how she was inspired by her new programs and what they represent, as well as being a role model for up-and-coming people of color. She also discusses her training and goals for this season, next events, and her education and a system she wants to develop.

Here's wishing her success and health! :cheer2:

Wishing Maé the best! I was glad she made it back to competitions after her serious injury at her age, and I'll miss her when she retires. She's such a distinctive skater, with a lot of energy and personality. Even if she doesn't have the highest difficulty possible, she just catches your attention every time. I think she's just the type of skater who engages the audience, who visibly enjoys performing, and who fans travel to see in competitions. No wonder she's widely popular. Wishing her more successful competitions!

Loved the birthday cake she gave to Loena at the end of the competition - and then she got the crowd to sing happy birthday! What a lovely gesture!

I enjoyed both of Loena's skates (obviously a fan LOL), but Mae-Berenice's skates almost tied Loena's in my book because it was so wonderful to see her back, especially after her heartbreaking injury at Worlds. What a fighter! Also great to see the interaction with her and Lorenzo Magri in the KnC. Seems a like a great coaching match for her.
