Church got broken into...

Chatting with my mom tonight... my home church was broken into over the night (Saturday)... they were apparently looking for money as they rifled through all of the file cabinets, desks, and regular drawers/cabinets. My dad's office is totally screwed up (he has a lot of file cabinents full of videos so they pulled those all out I guess and paperwork is all over the floor.

they didn't apparently want the video or sound equipment that's in the music office (my dad's 'second office' now that he's both youth director and music director lol oh the joys of a small church)...

what's really scary is my mom was there by herself last night until almost 10pm... they must have come in after she left!

yeah I have a feeling dad will be either going with her on her late night office hours... or he'll just tell her no all together lol (not that she listens but still lol)

So sorry! I'm sorry to hear about you dad's office. What church do you attend? I use to attend First Pres. in Anchorage and growing up, we had a string of break-ins. Mostly rocks going through windows but we had some nice stained glass windows that were broken. Of all places to break into....

It is really low that people have to break into a church. I imagine in an inner city type setting, it could be expected, but your church isn't in an inner city. What an awful violation.
I'm glad your Mom was home when it happened, and no one was physically hurt!

First Baptist Church of Kenai is the church that was broken into. Grew up in teh church... and now I'm their webmaster (website is under major construction as I have to add the new pastor info and they are beyond slow getting me the info I asked for lol so right now it's just a photo of the church. how sad is that? LOL)

now I attend the 'mega church' in Anchorage - ie Anchorage Baptist Temple (people either loves us or hate us... kinda like FBCK )

Wow sorry to hear that. I guess no place is sacred anymore. What a shame. I know that about 10 years ago somone started a fire at my home church. Luckily it only damaged the fellowship room and not the church itself.

Good grief - Is nothing sacred anymore? Pretty desperate to break into a place of worship. Well at least your mom was not hurt. It could be worse.

We have thieves constantly stealing copper wire here and they will break into anywhere to get it.

Aw I'm sorry, Toni. I'm glad your Mom wasn't there when they showed up!

There was a church bombing during a service, about 8-9 years ago at my church's sister church over in Danville IL. It was horrific. I met one of the girls that was there(at church camp) and she had some big scars on her back.
