I apologize for not starting a thread this time. Normally I would also be watching the closing ceremony, but today is just too nice of a day to sit around watching TV! I hope the ceremony is lots of fun and I'm planning on watching the Canadian broadcast later.

No worries. Glad to get your blessing, because I was worried about stepping on your toes.

As for fun, from what I have seen so far, I don't think "fun" will be the correct word. It looks like it is going to draw heavily from various operas.

CBC is being worse with the commericals that Peacock, shockingly. They've cut out the whole 'Faces of Italy' dance for commercials.

But on the flip side, Peacock is obnoxious with the backroom interviews of Team USA. Luckily I'm streaming both lol

And just as I write that post about it being all opera, we get a dance routine.

Now in comes the fleg! And a selection of Italian athletes.

I think they should have been all in one row...and Rizzo was left behind and had to find a place

At least the spectators to the ceremonies now know that there are more sports than just Alpine Skiing.

Still can't get over that all the athletes lighting the flames were from the same sport.

Interesting, normally Olympic closing ceremonies have a more fun and informal vibe to them. I wonder why they would go for something in a more serious vein. Of course, there's always the possibility that it'll get more fun later on. And the presence of opera doesn't diminish my anticipation for seeing this in the least! I'm sure I'll enjoy it...after I finish enjoying this nice sunny day.
