It's just bad when you have to cough it up.

Per year my tuition cost about $6,000. The spring and summer semesters were extra.

Yeah, the fees suck, but that's actually not a bad price. That's about what I paid per semester when I got my BA (which was back in 1991.....).

Two years to get my teaching certificate set me back $12K...... but soooo worth it. :)
 
I guess I just get frustrated because I'm paying for stuff I don't flat use! I mean I can understand lab fees whether I use them or not, but the stupid fees for the athletic stuff should be optional. The only time I'm in the Sports Center is going between the Science buildings to the Student Union! *pouts*

it's sad when I have to remind myself 4 more years, and it has nothing to do with politics :rofl: (more like 3 1/2 years but still)
 
If you are paying for them anyway you should try to use all of those opportunities... The rec sports facillities were sooooo nice, even though I'm not an iron pumping kinda person I forced myself to go with some regularity because I had to pay for it. We had silly fees at UT too, and they are constantly going up (tuition is 1000 dollars higher every year since 2001, that policy didnt affect me because I started in 2000... but that sucks for younger folks.)

They also started this "flat rate" tuition thing where you pay for 15 hrs no matter what. So its a good deal if you plan to take 17 each semester... but since I took 9 (and three were by correspondence) this semester it hurt to pay so much for what i wasnt using.

GRRRRR college. In 1914 a year of tuition was 54 dollars. But oh well.
 
By East Coast standards, that's dirt cheap.

I got my first education at Mass Art, which is a public school. When I then started taking evening classes at BU, I found that they were very affordable as long as I stayed part time, but became absolutely outrageous once I reached full time load. I would then take 2 classes at BU and 2 at Brandeis and then combine the credits.
 
the thing is the rec facilities are almost always closed because the sports teams use them... I'm basically paying for THEM to use them... and the ice rink is always being "re flooded" so I can't even just sit and watch the skaters LOL the swimming pool is the only thing that is normally open, but I don't swim... so *sigh*
 
That's not that bad. You would pay twice that and more to attend College here in British Columbia. I don't know how the students mangage between sky-high tuition fees and outrageous book prices. Most of them have to try and hold down a job while attending College.
