Wow what a suprising worlds it was to say the least.

Ladies: Miki Ando
Men: Brian Joubert
Pairs: Shen&Zhao
Dance: Denkova&Staviyski

So what were your predictions and compare them to what happened.

I could've put the following ladies' on top: Mao Asada, Kim Yu Na and that's about it that I could've thought of that could be on the top. Honestly when I saw Miki Ando's number and that she's now the world champion, I had trouble saying Miki Ando and World Champion all in one sentance. Its really shell shocking.

For the men: I could've put Brian Joubert, Daisuke Takahashi or Stephane Lambiel on top and could've accepted that.

For the dance: I seriously thought that Suzie Wynn's conspiracy theory that included Domnina and Shabalin because right now because of the low level in which Russian Skating is. I could've put however, Denkova and Staviyski or Domnina and Shabalin or Belibin and Agosto however, I found Dubriel and Lauzon a bit week.

so what were your theories and predictions ect....

I'm glad that Miki won and I somehow thought she would. (I didn't make good predictions of the top five after all, but I predicted Miki's victory anyway. I guess I also predicted Joubert and Shen / Zhao)
When I saw her programs during the GPs I got the feeling they were good enough for her to become the world champion...

Well, Joubert was the one who came there to win, so no surprise there. The only thing that I didn't expect was that he lost the FP to Takahashi and Lambiel.

I never thought after Euros, that Denkova / Staviski could defend their title, so that's a surprise for me. On the other hand I hardly followed the dance events this season, so I cannot really comment on the different programs.

Concerning Shen / Zhao, they did what everybody thought they would, didn't they?! I was surprised to see Pang / Tong that strong and well some of the other pairs placing that low in the SP (such as Zhang / Zhang and Petrova / Tikhonov)

I was hoping Kimmie would pull out number 2. I did not think Miki would win. She is not my favorite, but she has improved so much since the first time I saw her. So, good for her for holding it together and winning at home.

I'm really happy for Miki.

As for all those other champs, I'm glad they've done it, but no thrills. I'd rather see other skaters on the top.

funny. I had this feeling that Miki would win and said so a few times. I knew that the pressure on Mao was huge and Miki, being japnese as well, but slightly the underdog could really pull it together this year. I think that we all agreed that Yu-Na and mao would be on the podium as well. Pretty much what i predicted.

The men, i thought takahsi or oda would win.. boy was i wrong about Oda, but Takahshi should have won in my book. His artistry and spins can not be comapred to joubert's plus the fact that he landed his quad. Anyway...

The dance... inever predicted anything, it was too much of a guess, but i acutully thought that the canadinas were going to win... it had really been thier year. They thought so too i think. I was happy for the bulagians, they seemed so happy.
Belbin and agosto beat the russians, which is good and got a medal which i wasn't expecting.. good for them.

no surprise with shen and zhao, but i wish that the germans would have skated like they did at europeans and gotten the silver. Do you think that they skated not so well becsue they knew that they could not win? COmpare the program to whta they did at europenas, when they were hungry for the title. Maybe knowing they could not beat shen and zhao did not give them the "fight" needed for the performnace. I gotta hand it to her though, mistakes or not she really sells that program.

well that's cool that you all think what you all think, yah I think though that if Lambiel had skated a clean free skate a third world title would've been in his grasp.

Lambiel didn't skate clean in 2005 and 2006, but he won because no one else did. With Plushenko coming back and many other skaters now mastering quads, Lambiel won't win another title unless he can master the 3A and skate clean.

I was dissapointed in the way Lambiel's free skate went at Worlds since he got through the hardest jumps early, but then gave away alot by missing easier jumps late. The triple flip-triple toe combo should have been easy for him but he blew both jumps giving up so many points.

2008 is in Sweden!

I think the Asians may have a problem there. I'm with Lambiel for the win and Plush to be held up for silver, and maybe Buttle for a bronze.

I don't judge any skater on his last competition unless it was a breakthrough. Joubert had his and I don't think he will repeat it. Nobunari is also a big name as well as Takahashi The Americans have their work cut out.
