Michelle Kwan of the US ever competed in the Novice competion. It seems she was a juniour in 92 and 93 became a senior. WHAT THE!!!!!!!!

I vaguely remember seeing results in an old Skating magazine that both Michelle and Karen Kwan competed novice in 1991, and it was Karen who made it to Nationals that year. (Or maybe only to sectionals, but anyway she got further than Michelle.)

Yeah. At young age Karen was more well known in skating circles (Junior) than Michelle. Kwan parents never thought Michelle would make it. All they thought was probably Karen would make it.
