Dream Programs

I love the song "so close" from "Enchanted", i think it would be a great song for dance or pairs skating :dance3:

Not sure who I want to skate to this, but someone used it in the JGP event this week and I thought the music and program was amazing. I wish some of the top skaters would skate to cool pieces like this. Any suggestions for who would be good with this one? (what happened to our Music Matchmaker thread lol)

ETA: Yi Christy Leung was the skater who used this as her free program this week.

I think this could be a great piece for Sima Sakhanovich.

If Alena Leonova returns for another season, I'd like to see her do 2 things. Step #1. Call me and invite me to Russia to do anything I can to make her life go as smoothly as possible. Step#2 Skate to "Get Here" By Oleta Adams. It's deep, emotional, and fitting for a Diva like you.

Yuri!!! on Ice programs

On a more serious note : Tango in a dark costume with tasteful gemstone design.

I went to see this movie called La La Land (if you haven't seen it GO. So good...) on Christmas Day. It turned out to be one of the best movies I've ever seen and as a LA native, a lot of its messages really hit home. Anyway, I loved the entire soundtrack as well, and I think all of it is very skateable. I made an edit of Evgenia skating to some music from the film. However, while making this video, I found that the soundtrack would honestly suit other skaters better...namely (well, especially) Gracie, Yulia (City of Stars), Mariah (Bell), Elena Radionova (some of the more upbeat pieces), and Mirai. Wouldn't be surprised to see any of them do a La La Land program eventually.

Okay, you convinced me! This film seems right up my alley. First showing here is tomorrow morning at 9:45 AM... maybe I'll try that one.

^One caveat though: it's a musical (very much a homage to classic MGM-style productions like Singin' in the Rain) so if spontaneous singing is not your thing...might be a long 2 hrs lol.

I am still holding a candle for Mao to turn her original Ballade No.1 into an SP and Jupiter as her FS. But in all honesty, I just need her to skate to another Chopin piece for her short. She seems intent on pushing herself artistically, and her Ritual of Fire FP is gorgeous, so either keep it for the Olympic season or go super adventurous with the music. She's got nothing to lose.

Can Gracie Gold just PLEASE skate to Roxie Hart?

Waiting for Shoma to skate to The Godfather, Marin to skate to Coppelia, Wakaba to ditch that horrid Scheherazade costume and skate to Danse Macabre. Pogorilaya should skate to Fever as a short and Angelica by Rodrigo y Gabriela for the long.

I enjoyed the movie so much as well and the music was amazing.
I loved your edit on Evgenia's program. I liked your version better than the original.
I agree with all your suggestions for who to skate to LaLa Land music and I want to add Jason Brown to the list. I can see him skating to City of Stars. I would also love to see Peng and Jin skate to A Lovely Night. They would have so much fun with it.

I was listening to bits and pieces of Merry Widow Waltz and I reckon there's some ladies that could do a good job at it :)

Someone has got to skate to the Rogue One OST !

(Just saw it. I'm still shook. #EmotionalCarnage )

I edited a few Harry Potter songs together to try and make a FS.

I only worked on this for a couple of hours so it's far from perfect and some of the edits are just not tweaked yet but it gives an idea. Anyone else want to see a Potter themed program as much as me? What other songs would you choose. I'd love some suggestions because I'm going to redo this again some day and I'm open to suggestions for selections. I love the music when Harry and Ginny first kiss in the room of requirement but I think a really good one that wouldn't need much editing could be the Weasley Stomp.

I think Maria Sotskova would slay this to pieces as a Short Program.
