I had forgotten to post it here

June 27th on Sky Perfect TV streaming
July 5th and 24th on Nittele Gtasu

June 28th on Nittele Plus
There is another I missed (or maybe added later)
■BS broadcast
【Digest edition】July 26 (Sunday) 15:30~16:25 on BS Nittele

Opening

Finale lap with all the skaters (most girls have changed their costumes)

UtaMasa's rhythm dance is so sensual, dark and a bit edgy. Loved it already. I was curious how the managed to connect waltz with samba but it works well. The samba part really highlights their strengths. I think they working on the new lift (based on Utana's IG clip) so they probably bring it in the fall. They did the old one at DOI. One thing I'd like them to change is Utana's overboot tights. I think their weakness is leg extension (pointing the toes) and wearing tights like that makes it even more visible. But it's June so the costume and look is probably not the final one.
IkuKo's lines and shapes are just gorgeaus. They have comanding presence but elements are not as sharp and strong like UtaMasa's. Golden waltz is still a struggle (understandably). Their program is more conventional but it suits them and it's beatifully choreographed.
I think Cathy did a good job with those programs, they are so different and well suited for the teams.

I had to share it. He ate! Love to see this side of him, he seems to geuinely enjoy it and the crowd was totally in.

Kao and Sota were my favourite performances. (Again, thank you Kana!) And Kaori, no one skates like her, her speed and ice coverage were second to none and her double axel was the best jumping pass (even comparing to Rio's beautiful quad).

Kao really ate! I didn't know what to expect but that was amazing!
Sota's program has some dark vibes but it works so well.
Ami...I liked her programs last season but they were a bit junior-ish (which is totally fine). This new program is more mature and exactly what I hoped for.
IkuKo look really good but I know nothing about ice dance 😂
UtaMasa's music cut doesn't work for me. The pieces are too different.
For the juniors, I really enjoyed Mayuko, Taiga and Daiya (always down for a Matrix program)

Tbh, I liked more or less all programs. And I say it on my grumpy day.
I really liked Mao's, Ami's, Yuna was so beatiful, Kazuki's program will be epic, Shun's step sequence is soo sharp and fun.
Sota's performance was so captivating and really moved me (it's different, not "in your face" one but rather taking in the trance).
Even for warhorses, they chose unusual cuts so there's a fresh feeling.
I don't like Rio's music (sounds like generic AI track) but the program itself is well choreographed and catchy (minus way too many fists clunching).

I know it's partly the theme and the dress colour, but while watching Ikura in the latter half of the program, Juulia flashed trough my mind (high praise here).
I adore UtaMasa, so I'm not at all objective, but I liked it, even with the rather abrupt music cut, minus the acrobatic-sweeping-the-ice-with-your-partner-move, that I hated.
Yuna 😍 And yes, Kazuki, watch your future dance partner (that's a joke lol).
Kazuki 😍
Sota without dreary music is always a win.
Kao was so fun! Kazuki agrees with me, I see (not me looking at the boards anytime Kazuki is there).

I was planning to upload the entire Nittele Plus broadcast in two parts (pre and post intermission) however, my stream froze/buffered during both Yuna and Shun's performances as well as during the Finale
I've been trying for hours and still unable to record "part two" in full w/o issues so I've decided to upload video of the event in smaller segments
I know all performances have already been shared on twitter/X but in case anyone is interested the links below also include warmups and interviews
Still unable to get a clean cut of the Finale. I'll add a link if I'm able to get a decent recording (I know it's available to view on twitter/X)

I LOVED that move! 😅

I LOVED that move! 😅
I think it can be cool when done smoothly (it felt a bit off today), there's a lot of time to perfect it.
Anyway, it 's really refreshing to not have choreo step seq (short line) in the RD, there's more room to do actual choreography which doesn't look like separate element and the composition is better.
I don't like the obligatory acrobatic movement requirement, I think it's completely unnecessairy, many teams would do sth acrobatic anyway so I'd prefer to leave it for creativity and let the skaters do the moves that suit their music and program styles.
Forcing innovation never leads to actual innovation, imo.

I have to say DOI is quite demanding for skaters. Four performances in the row of the brand new programs with all full technical content (even if watered down a bit) in front of the live audience, media and TV broadcast. Plus - on the narrowed rink with people sitting there so close. It must be hard. Respect. It's a great event but I wish they left them full size rink with barriers.
I saw a lot of critisizing comments about golden watz of both dance teams but I don't think there's any team in the world who could skate freshly learned pattern (or frankly, any other pattern) confidently on full speed when you have people litterally sitting on the rink.

Masaya looks a bit overwhelmed by her - or perhaps his just reflects the effort into the lift....
Or maybe he's acting. :cheeky:
My first thought when I heard "Danse macabre" with Samba was that they might be doing something like an old movie, "Black Orpheus" (main music and the soundtrack is mostly bossa nova, but they had Rio's carnival scene), and when I saw Utana's makeup, the first thing came to mind was Izanami, a Japanese Shinto goddess of creation and death (underworld), who has the same mythology as Eurydice (of Orpheus and Eurydice). Either way, I want to think Utana is supposed to be inviting Masaya to her world of death
But this is just my wishful thinking, we may find out more once they get their real costumes for RD!

Here are more great photos from DOI.
Some are what we couldn't see from the broadcast, including photos from practice, thanks to Saaya-san!
