DVS shoes durability

Hi everybody. First of all, im not a skater but I like skate shoes alot because of their look and comfort. Its time for me to buy a new pair of shoes so I've been looking this days and found a pair of DVS Contra in a good price ($55). I like alot how it looks but Im not sure about it durability because some skaters have told me that DVS shoes dont last even a year, is this true?

Oh and Im sorry for any bad english there, im from Venezuela

this is a figure skating forum, so we wouldn't know too much about skate shoes. However if you want to learn about figure skating you've come to the right place.
