Echoes of Life tour 2024-25

The 6th and last episode of the Echoes-rooted philosophical dialogue on Deep Edge Plus is out by now with Yuzu and Rei diving deeper into causes and concepts of happiness and unhappiness, loneliness and connection. They will still have an epilogue episode later when they will both reflect on the experience, what it was like and what it meant for them to be a part of this philosophical dialogue.

And the final 7 episode - Epilogue - has been posted!
Here's from Deep Edge Plus:
"The final installment of the series "Yuzuru Hanyu in Contemplation" has been released! Also, don’t miss the final casual conversation… it’s a must-see. The words Yuzuru-san said at the end really hit deep! We’re collecting feedback on the series through the form at the end of the article!"

Deep Edge Plus has published two parts of the special Comments edition - a postscriptum to the philosophical dialogue between Rei Nagai and Yuzuru Hanyu inspired by and referencing the Echoes of Life that was unfolding before our eyes for the last 3 months or so - and sometimes involving the journalists and staff present at the venue. This part is composed mostly of the selected comments from the viewers which are in turn commented and reflected upon by Rei Nagai, the female philosopher whose book "Underwater Philosophers" was pointed to by Yuzuru as his inspiration when creating Echoes and which gets literally quoted in the show. Also some of the comments refer both to the book and the show, in addition to the dialogue series itself.
The Comments chapter has been published in the open section of the Deep Edge Plus and can be easily accessed for free via the links/photos in the tweets below, unlike the main philosophical dialogue which can be accessed only if you subscribe to DEP and pay a small monthly subscription fee.

As today is the World Philosophy Day, some take this occasion to look back to Echoes of Life and the iconic philosophical dialogue it sparked on the Deep Edge Plus between Yuzu and the philosopher Rei Nagai, which was spread over more than 3 months and got an "overwhelming response" from the public, according to Kyodo News.
From Yuzu himself on Echoes of Life:
"It aligns with things I have been thinking about for a long time, like bioethics, my experience as a disaster survivor, or the fact that nearly 80 years have passed since the war. In the midst of fading memories, I wondered, what's life? I wanted to encompass a variety of ideas into a theme that invites philosophical exploration".
A very Japanese exploration, it needs to be added,
It seems it might have inspired some others to start their own excursions into philosophy, on and off the ice
Well, Yuzu never ceases to inspire.:)

The DVDs and Bluerays will come, given the success of all the others!
As we're having Re_Pray and Notte Stellata 2025 DVDs and BlueRays coming this January and in March, I expect a similar duo of Echoes of Life and Notte Stellata 2026 to be released next winter (just like GIFT and Notte Stellata 2024 were last winter).:rock::rock:

Some selected Echoes of Life memories from viewers on the Beyond Live platform (the Korean platform where international fans could watch the show live and delayed for a limited time with subtitles in several languages) in their 2025 recap to which they invited everyone who has an account with them (with Yuzu on top of the pyramid, but of course  :))

It came upon my feed on YouTube and I think it is a very interesting fragment of a longer doc. It shows Yuzu practicing before the Echoes show in Chiba - and it is a very informative take on the challenges of skating competitive programs in shows which in some aspects may be even more difficult than during competitions. Enjoy and reflect!
And yes, despite challenges during practices, the show performance was flawless!

Fully subtitled in English!

It's coming soon:

Look what a gem I found!!!
Here is the transcript of Eclipse / Blue poem written by Yuzuru as a part of Echoes of Life narrative and pre-recorded as read by Yuzu himself to some musical background. The transcript comes not from Beyond but from the live translation people at the venue heard in their earphones live. That's why it comes a little bit different from what many of us might remember from the stream.

And below a tiny second of the Eclipse/Blue from the show, and a clock that survived the earthquake and is on display at a local school exhibition now. So beautiful, so many memories....
