I'm not fan of their free dance but hopefully they can skate more cleanly this time

They win silver with 160.43, placing behind Coomes/Buckland in the FD but having that cushion from the SD.
I am SO proud of them, so pumped.
I remember wondering why I was supporting a team so strongly when I had never seen them skate back in July and August, but the gut feeling really pushed me to pull for them. And what a push it was! They mesh so well and they have such a natural chemistry.
I'm just so happy right now for them! :dance:

I agree. But let's admit it, we all knew what a star and great skater she is. We also knew is a very good skater and the better one in his previous partnership. It would've been a pity if this wouldn't have worked.
He is a hard worker. He has improved so much and they will become a perfect match.
They need time, so their movements will become automatic and will learn to know with closed eyes where the partner is during the skating.
Once you've done that you can freely dance and be less nervous.

Lol is it just me or Ruslan looks so much older than at the end of summer. So much stress?
He looks HOT! I mean, I literally squeaked at their opening pose in the SD.
He grew up to be a man!
My wife thinks he should cut his hair shorter to look even hotter. Anyone agree? :dance:

I was Team Ruslena from the beginning but with these last 2 competitions I am completely enamored! There are some things to work on of course but they look fantastic!
I love how Ruslan presents her, he doesn't seem intimidated by her star power. I think Nikita was. He can keep up either her as well as emote. I think he will only get better.
I notice a positive change in Elena as well. I love how invested in this team she seems to be. Not just with Ruslan but with her coaches as well. She has really matured with the split. I think sky is them limit for them and that they will continue to buckle down and get to work. Really pleased with their victory here.
Ruslan could trim his hair a little lol.
I also couldn't help but notice Nikita staring at her when they began the SD, I saw him on the British Euro Sport video. Thought that was interesting....

I noticed that too..! But then Zueva probably rushed them backstage.
Nikita didn't know what a diamond he had in his hands. Or at least he didn't value it enough. Yes, she can be kinda tough sometimes, but I bet it's due to lack of confidence (as absurd as it sounds) .
Elena is the type dancer that needs to be empowered and presented by her partner, and Ruslan DID JUST THAT.

Not only he is not intimidated at all. He embraces the fact that she is a star quality, and he is proud.
I think he was kinda a tough as well. I'll never forget when Elena was telling about the mistake she made (not totally her fault) with the twizzels at Euros.
She spent the whole day apologising to Nikita and Morozov and feeling bad about it.

I think that is why Elena had confidence issues in the past. I don't want to say Nikita wasn't proud of her because that is not a fair statement but I can say that Ruslan is not ashamed to show the world how proud he is of his partner. With Ruslan taking this role he has ignited something in her that, to me, I haven't seen before. She is at a whole new level of performance. And Elena returns that pride to Ruslan, elevating him.
Do you have this vid not via Youtube maybe? Universal Sports is blocked in my country and I'D LOVE to see the whole thing.

Love her comments. It's true that I/Z is still rough especially in lift and spin but they have so much presence on ice and they skate so big so fast. They have huge potential.
