Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

Welcome to the love fest. We have the following T-Shirts:

2. Judge Number 8 sucks.

:laugh2: Sister, I promise you I'm going to do a t-shirt with that, signed MK's Winter, and put a picture for you. I swear. :laugh2:
Consider it a christmas present on distance from me.

I'm going to be that weird groupie fan that follows them every where, like the guy Hector from Blades of Glory

Too funny!

Loved their free dance performance in Barcelona, especially their new spin. We're they both a little misty eyed after their performance? They both seemed to be wiping their eyes.

I know I was, Elena was not sure about Ruslan though lol

Yeah, I also saw Ruslan wiping his eyes.

I think ultimately this GPF was a great experience for them. They made a few changes to their FD, so maybe they will be a little less nervous at Russian Nationals since they performed it already infront of international judges.
I was thinking about their chances getting into the Euros and Worlds team and I think they and B/S are Russia`s best chance to maintain the 3 spots at Worlds. I/Z already showed great performances in their competitions and the judges seem to really like them. The judge panel at GPF, for example, was evenly distributed between North-American, Asian and European judges and I/Z`s PCS were great for such a new team.

ITA. Although I wonder about B/S and his injury, I keep hearing different things about whether or not they are going to be ready. I really believe that I/Z could very well become Russia's #1 this year even if B/S were to compete. The judges didn't give them a lot of love last year.

Somehow, B/S always managed to peak at Russian Nationals in the past. I/K never managed to beat them, not even in the 2013/2014 season. I also think that if B/S are not there, I/Z will be #1. I read in an interview that Soloviev gave, that they are still unsure about Russian Nationals. I guess, that even without competing at Nationals, the federation will nominate B/S as long as they are ready until Euros.

Bobrova/Soloviev being in russian team will take some pressure from I/Z. Being russian no.1 means every small thing you did will get ciriticism. Being russian no.2 with future means they will overlook those things because you will correct this in future.

Which I agree with. B/S should go to Euros if they done skate. Their injury was unfortunate.

They were both a bit misty eyed, they seem to get deep into the performance, and to me they are as much artists as they are exceptional skaters.
I love this FD, more than I thought I will like it, and the third part most people don't like is actually my favourite part
( What I don't like is some old guys that have conferences on the net that continue to say stupid things and say that specialists told them so...)

I just want a fair competition. I just hope that the success on the GP series did also convince the Russian Federation that this couple has a future.
