Somehow I prefer the original dress. So I think I might prefer this to the white one. It goes with Ruslan's outfit better for me and matches the mood of the FD I think. I think it would be best if the white dress were red/burgundy to go with Ruslan's grey, something rich. They are really able to express such a wide range of emotions in this dance. Hoping for good things at nationals.

I felt like the white dress made Elena fade into the ice a little bit. She was less visible, and Ruslan was all the more visible. I think it worked out because it was a wonderful skate, but I think a darker dress like the grey one would draw more attention to Elena. Idk, it has a positive and a negative side: to me the white dress tones Elena down and makes it more balanced, but the grey(/black) dress pulls more attention to Elena who is, after all, the better skater and might be more favorable in terms of scores. Just my thoughts though.

I think I`m also too scared to watch Nationals :laugh: They have the chance to win with B/S out, but they could also end up 3rd, which would mean no Euros and Worlds for them :cry: On the other hand, if the Russian Federation wants to keep the three spots, they will need I/Z for that, because PCS-wise they were the #1 of the Russian couples.
 
I love all 3 dresses, but like bramwled I too think the black one matches the mood of the FD better.
I&Z will be sent to Euros. The Russian Fed would be mad if they don't, given the fact that they have PCS, so the judges like them. They also got World TES minimum at their first competition. They missed it only once, in the SD at the GPF because they were nervous, it happens, but they were back in the FD.

Don't worry, the Fed is almost certainly going to throw it's weight behind I/Z. The only team with scores even close is M/K, and that's solely on strength of TES. In the FD, the PCS difference is 5 points. The Fed won't ignore that. Not to mention, in case B/S can't make it to Euros/possibly Worlds as well, they're going to need a Plan B. Even if I/Z make small mistakes they will get high PCS and be held up over the other teams.

Even though I usually don't support this kind of 'scoring', I can only agree this time... I love this team too much!

I do not agree either, although it happens to ALL elite couples. Just like it happens when new and good couples are held down, no matter how good they might perform, and it happened to them in China for example.

Having said that, I do not want them to get ridiculous scores like C&L at national today.

Nationals is always inflated. Being the likely #1 it would not surprise me if they broke 70 in the SD and 100 in the FD. It's a little ridiculous but what can you do? C/L as you mentioned got a huge score, so did P/C, W/P and Chock/Bates will likely also get a huge score... It's kind of silly, but it happens to all top couples. At Nationals, it's less the actual scores that matter, and more the distance between the scores.

Yes, I know but I really don't get that. I mean inflated yes, but that much? I mean 76 got V&M in Sochi. :laugh2:

The Italian judges always overscore C/L at Naionals, they didn`t even crack 70 pts at Worlds. I wonder how the international judges will receive C/L at Euros and Worlds, Italy doesn`t have a judge on neither panel and I think they have lost a lot of momentum with the judges.

I don`t want I/Z to get such overblown scores at Nationals, but I want the Russian judges to make it clear that I/Z are the #1 in Russia with B/S not competing.
 
I doubt that Russian Fed will shower them with high scores, at least this season. Anyways they can make it I believe.
