Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I'm so pleased with starting order! :cheer:

Now, that`s the spirit!

I`m also happy with the starting order, especially since they aren`t in the same group with a certain other couple. I hope Ruslena could fix the levels of their Paso in those few weeks since GPF.

I think Ruslena will be fine. I hear you on the skating in the same group as others. They threw down at COR though and they have the crowd behind them! GO RUSLENA!!!!!

Ruslan just needs to not wobble on the 1st KP in the partial step sequence! Interestingly, the results page shows that two of the technical panel have been invited from outside Russia - György Elek from Hungary & Galit Chait from Israel. They don't usually do this as far as I remember, so I guess with so many new & up & coming teams in the mix, they want to really make sure the couples are marked as an international panel would do it.

Elek and Chait were also on the panel at COC, where our beloved Ruslena had their debut. They got great levels on their step sequences, all level 3, they only got l2 on the last lift and l1 on the spin, but I/Z reworked both elements since COC, so this shouldn`t be a problem.

Good news! Gosh I'm so nervous :drama:

Galit is only Assistant Technical Specialist. The Tech Controllor is Alla, but Elec is the Tech Specialist and they do need majority of votes on the decisions.

They have invited people once before, and last year they had Vitaly Baranov (?) who judges for Ukraine and not Russia, a couple of years ago Alpern.Anyway it's better since most of the technical specialists anyway work in Zhulin's group.

Ruslan and the KP will be perfectly ok

At COC Elek was also the Specialist and Chait the Assistant Technical Specialist. I only hope for a great competition and that Ruslena perform their programs as we know they can :)

Me too cause we happen to like the team, and not them separately which says a lot!
It's the China GP panel plus Alla Shekhovtsova I guess

Who was the controller there? The judges sucked there, expect 1 or 2.

There also aren't many tech specialists without conflicts of interest: Durnev, Samokhin, Liapina, and Romashkin all have affiliations to at least one of the teams competing, and I would imagine this year all groups would be ready to pounce on any perceived bias.

One can only hope for the best for them. I am sure even through all their smiles this must have been the most hellish of GP seasons. I long for the day though when no mention whatsoever is made of their former partners when speaking about Ruslena. This is going to be such a tough nationals for them especially Lena. To come back to the place where you became a Olympic medalist with a different partner!! My heart goes out to them and I wish them every success :cheer2::points:

Merry Christmas Ruslena Fans! Thank you as always for engaging and fun conversation! To Lena and Ruslan- have a kick *** Nationals!

I'm not sure they are sad, actually I think that young people and elite athletes are different, as in , they adapt more easily, and I never doubted that their happiness is sincere, these are happy people. And they should feel blessed they found eachother and I can see they do.

But please, don't let the negativity per agenda going around places get into our heads,it's just that some people will never let go and I insist on that, and take advantage of things, or are being taken advantage of.

Alithia, I like how you're thinking. Today, I believe is gonna be one of those GREAT skates for Ruslena. They look to be on fire.

Best of luck to my favorite Ice Dance team at Russian Nationals. I think we all deserve a nice skate for Christmas this year. I know I've been good ;)
