Bobrova/Soloviev will not be in Europeans. So Ilinykh/Zhiganshin entering competition as russian number 1. Skating in early groups will be disadvantage.:scowl:

Judging by their previous competitions, the greater the level of expectations and the burden of responsibility - the better their performances and results are (for example, Rostelecom cup, where I/Z had to meet face to face with their previous partners, and national championship, where they were leaders in terms of international results in this season, and vice versa - FGP, where they didn't compete for getting on the podium). That's why I think that being russian number 1 is good for them and a huge advantage, no matter what starting order will be. By the way, Lena and Ruslan, I suppose, will skate their SD in 3d group, not in the very beginning.

Top 6 is a rather low estimate, in my opinion. They'll be Russia #1 at the event, that should cancel out skating early. S/Z skated in the 3rd or 4th group for the SD and they still managed to place 4th. And they were Russia #3 and also weren't scoring as high with their programs. I think Elena and Ruslan should be just fine.

Also, keep in mind that of all the teams that will be at Europeans, I/Z have the second highest overall score.

I want them to have a truly audacious debut. I hope that they make the podium at the very least and if able go for the win. But this will be a tall order given the changes and improvements they want to make to their dances. So realistically I want them to just give it all they have and then go for broke at worlds all things being well.

Their SD is the best in the world right now imo. Their scores have steadily risen for this dance and are not inflated. I think now that they have had rest and are back to the grind they will be ready. I can't wait!!

Excited myself. I knew they had something special from COC, but the way they hammered it home in COR, everything else looks like a snoozefest. I am also looking forward to how they improve their FD. Hopeful and praying they do exceedingly well.

Last night I did see swan lift in my dream. Ruslan's position was spread eagle instead of one leg and they did curve lift.They were in black practice outfits, their pose looked beautiful, tons of ice coverage and lift sure lasted more than 6 seconds. I didn't see exit. .
