Great interview, and so nice of her to keep in touch with fans off-season beyond sharing photos (not that I don't love seeing photos, of course!) and tell us at length about her work and what's going on with her in general.
I was impressed that even during vacation she couldn't help returning to skating in her thoughts and was corresponding with Kustarova, discussing various details of the FD. Well, we've heard before that she's very creative, and this just goes to show that. I also loved how in reply to dreams for life after the sports, obviously asked from the personal angle perspective, she replied that she wants to coach: "I have lots of ideas and a whole collection of music. I already want to create programs for singles skaters." I get a feeling her skaters won't have to ask fans for ideas! But while it'll be great if she continues to dazzle us with her on-ice creations after she leaves the sport, I remember how she said earlier that she wanted to be an actress after fs and portray deep, dramatic characters, and I think of all the figure skaters I've ever seen (which is longer than she's been living, lol), she has the most potential in acting. Well, perhaps, she could combine coaching with acting, especially in films, because I believe she could become a great actress, and it would be a pity if she didn't get to explore that side of her talent.
It's also interesting how Lipnitskaya impressed her from the first glance, so to speak. And while it's true that they are different people by nature, I think they have the same geniune, caring and honest nature that draws them to each other, as well as the desire to realize themselves in figure skating beyond winning medals. And being wise beyond her years that Elena noted in Yulia is also something she has herself, I think.
And I'd like to read a whole interview about her dogs, even though I myself am a cat person rather than a dog person, lol. (But I take it, the dogs live with her mother and brother, right? That would make sense, with her traveling to competitions, training bases, shows, etc.)
I was deeply touched by what she said about shelters for homeless animals and orphanages. There are so many indifferent people in this world who care only about themselves and their families, that it's really striking to read about somebody who can't sleep at night because of others' problems. Maybe that's why so many people have been drawn to her, both in her previous partnership and now. She certainly does have enormous talent - that's plain as day and was always obvious - but I think the way fs fans care about her goes beyond talent. At any rate, I've seen a number of super-talented skaters who could turn out breathtaking performances of museum quality, and I cheered their successes and was glad I could see them in real time, but I didn't worry in the summer which GP assignments they'd get or get angry when fans of their rivals gave them wrong advice on the Internet or when the press wrote something callous about them. Elena draws people in with her personality and character as well as her skating, so that so many people not just enjoy her performances, but also care about her personally. That's why what I liked best in this interview was her saying that it feels so good to her to be with the team that surrounds her now, and that she has many happy memories of her life in Novogorsk. It makes me happy to know that she's happy.
Work-wise, of course, it's great that she wants to focus on real creativity now, keep developing further, explore different styles, that she'll get to skate to something she's long dreamed about in the short dance with choreography done by one of the top choreographers in the world, that a lifts expert will come specially to Latvia from the USA to work with them for 10 days, and that apparently they've had such a good rest that they can now work from early morning till late at night.
It's also impressive that she praises their rivals Papadakis-Ciseron so generously.
Another thought I had after this interview is that she'll indeed make a great coach: being so creative and so caring, so excited about fs, and also having such an impossibly strong character.
Somehow I feel almost assured now that things will work out for them sooner or later, regardless of the external factors.

I think it's Medvedkovo rink's off ice area, but I'm not sure about it. It's as if I've seen this place before.
Not with skaters, if I'm not completely mistaken he was in that recent Dance project on Perviy, and I think he has worked in that Averbukh show when ballet dancers skated with skaters. Modern choreographer, pretty young. I like his job, I think they avoided the risk of doing a too much done, too classic, too 90s in the bad way short dance.

Interesting choice!!! I love how they bring something so daring like this to the table!!
Can you imagine how epic this could be if they rock it the way Daisuke did with his hip hop Swan Lake? No matter what I applaud their bravery. I can just see TAT and Besti rolling their eyes in complete disapproval. While Ruslena roll on the floor dying with laughter? This works to their advantage though as they know neither of them will have any useful comments come control rentals time. LOL. ROFL.
