I lurve...
NAOMI NARI NAM- my first crush. I was 11 and I saw her on TV when she was 13. I am rooting avidly for her comeback!
Carolina Kostner- triple-triples! wheee! I also met her at skate america, she is a very sweet girl
Viktoria Pavuk- A lot of power, triple triples, nice speed and a very, very cool style
Miriam Manzano! Saw her at Worlds and I love the pure joy in her skating, and how she keeps competing and improving steadily even at a relatively advanced age.
Mojca Kopac- I really admire her persistence, she has a lovely unique style.
Elena Liashenko- I love her tango presentation. Love love love it. Also admire her persistence and the extremely high level she has been able to achieve at an advanced age...equaled only by Butyrskaya
Shizuka Arakawa- love her huge jumps and voidy presentation. She was off the Japanese team for a while around 99, 2000, the alternate to everything. But she managed to skate her way back onto it. While this was back when Team Japan had about as much depth as a mudpuddle (Yuka Kanazawa, Arisa Yamasaki, Utako Wakamatsu...ever heard of them? [except Utako as a pair]) I still respect her for "fighting against the current". Huge, powerful jumps, daring 3-3s and a nice unique style...plus consistency. She is the most well rounded skater on the circuit right now.
Fumie Suguri- Zzzzzzzzzzzz! So fast and light, she skates like a dragonfly skimming on water. In person, it's really breathtaking to watch.
Sasha Cohen makes my heart go 1000000000 miles an hour when she skates, but maybe that's just her inconsistency.
Dan Fang has a lovely, elegant style; stole my heart at Worlds. Still mourning the autograph I lost when I was running to OD practice in the rain :-(
Jenna McCorkell- Raw Power. Love her huge jumps as well as her smile!
For the pairs: SHEN/ZHAO ARE MY BABIES. MY FAVORITES FOR ALL TIME
I'll do my fave guys (including Todd Eldredge) sometime when I'm not in a computer lab about to close.
