Gordeeva and Grinkov (the mid-section of their '88 Olympic FS was a Chopin piano sequence)

The only part of Roxanne that I can't stand is the opening part with that horribly grating voice! Once I'm past that, I'm OK with it. I have a skating fan friend friend who holds her hands over her ears every time she hears that part. We look @ each other & groan!

I actually like Michael Buble, but, yeah, his version of "Feelin' Good" is overused in figure skating!

So, "Feelin' Good" is my response to warhorses here!

As long as we're confessing, I'll own up to still loving LaLaLand (how can you not love Han Yan's?), Michael Buble mostly, and even Music of the Night. And of course, Bohemian Rhapsody/We Are the Champions as skated by Anastasia and Aleksandr!:bsplit:

So, another warhorse ...

Bolero

I don't mind Bolero (and never stop thinking about T/D).

I can't stand any version of Hallelujah...but I love Roxanne, Libertango and Maria di Buenos Aires.

I like k.d. lang's version of Hallelujah the best. I don't care for Maria de Buenos Aires, though.

I can't stand Lara Fabian's "Je suis malade!" It makes me feel "malade!"

Music in skating competitions
90%: Warhorse music, etc.
10%: Other music

ETA: I have to say, here, that a big reason skaters use warhorses is that by and large, they work! They have a range of moods and set the stage for skaters and audiences to feel so many things, including elation and uplifting conclusions of their skates! 2nd point: as we see, we all differ in which warhorses we hate. i.e. I love Hallelujah no matter how many times and Maria di Buenos Aires.
