Excited for the full Brisbane entry list to come out. Hope lots of good skaters are coming. The First JGP is usually the hardest don't you think ?

Yeah. Being first off the block is hard.
I really enjoy the JGP that takes place outside Europe. It always has a different feel to it.
Fingers crossed. When are the ISU going to release the entry lists......

Why no senior grand prix assignment for Katya and Harley? Are they doing juniors again this year? I really enjoyed them at Worlds/JW and was looking forward to seeing what they can do on the senior grand prix after winning JW.

I think it came down to ISU rankings. They only have competed one season together, so they do not have as many world ranking points.
I did wish they got one assignment. Also, the moment they compete at a Junior Grand Prix, they will immediately become ineligible to compete on the Senior Grand Prix (new rule). They are in a bit of a lose lose situation.

The field is a bit small, some big names (Australia is a little bit far away from anywhere in the world). It should still be a great event.
There are only 10 Ice Dance teams competing here, so Australia is guaranteed "Olympic Team Event" qualification points.

Thank you for this.

About the same numbers as 2011 when Brisbane hosted last time.

Some awesome international names to watch out for in the men's event, including Donovan CARRILLO, Alexei KRASNOZHON, Eric SJOBERG, and Roman SAVOSIN.

Good to see NZL represented in men's and ladies', too.

Good luck to Matilda and William & Kim and Tim for the Free Dance today.
The ice dance race in Australia is still very tight. We still do not have a clear #1 dance team.

In terms of the SD performances today, not too shabby. Its obvious that both teams have worked hard to improve, but there is lots of room for growth. They will need to find ways to get the levels on the step sequences and the pattern dance because that is where the big points are.

Also, well done for some great Free Dances. They are quite an upgrade from both teams.

Well I think the Asian Open results was a bit of a rough start of the international season. With some uncharacteristic falls and mistakes from Kailani, Andrew and Darian. As well as some disaster skates from Amelia and Stephens/Dodds. Hopefully will get better throughout the season especially those at JGP Brisbane.

Congratulations Kailani for a Bronze medal finish at the Asian Open Trophy.
A couple of jumping errors- especially her loop, but nice to see that she is connecting with her new Free Skate.
Also, nice to see that she had less edge take off errors with the lutz- a sign of improvement.

Also, good job James for showing some good fight in his free skate- getting the 3A(<<) out, as well as the triple triple.
Also, special mention to Guiseppe for showing some nice improvement.

Other congratulations to our two medallists in Novice B.

As Bianca mentioned, a very tough competition for Andrew, Amelia, Serena, Darien, and Matthew/Paris, but better next time.

Doesn't Katia & Harley have a fan thread here? I thought I had seen it here but I couldn't find it.

Anyway, they have been assigned to JGP Latvia, so, I guess no GP event for them.

By the way, why does Harley's Insta say his last name is Dahlstrom and not Windsor. His JGP Latvia entry indicates that his last name is still Windsor.

Obviously this is only my opinion but the guy is an *** because he has post pic of his *** on his insta.

On Wikipedia, his full name is listed as Harley Dahlstrom-Winsor.
