Meryl Davis announces that @FSinHarlem will start pilot program in Detroit. She and Charlie will be actively involved

Davis, the Shibutanis, Lysacek, etc., are at the annual FS in Harlem fundraiser tonight.
(No biggie, but I think bridegroom-to-be Charlie White perhaps is not.)

(As an aside, this year's fundraiser is not at a rink. In the past, the venue has been Wollmann Rink in Central Park. The young skaters in FSinH programs have performed.)

I think Meryl and Maks are scheduled to perform at tonight's NY event.

This is awesome! I lived in Michigan for six years and Detroit, for all its bad press, is full of great people. It deserves more positive, organized groups to support the community. With all the the elite athletes and coaches in the area, it's wonderful that they'll be able to give back.

Dave of The Skating Lesson attended the FSinHarlem bash, and has posted lots of content on social media from it.

Among the posts on the TSL Facebook page is a short video of Meryl making the announcement of the new program in Detroit.
