She's not on the official entries-list for the Euros. Does anyone know why? There's no skater from Lux on there?

The post says she is going to skate with Baldwin's brother, Don. They will skate for Luxembourg.

Donny

My friend out there says that Fleur is injured but was doing throw triple sals and loops and....Donny can do triple axel!

has paired before

Don Baldwin has paired before with 2 or 3 partners, probably the most successful being his first partner. I have not seen him with Fleur, but they've been together since summer. Don is more proficient in dance IMO and could have developed into one of our best dancers on a national level...but, he loves to jump. So there it is.

It is a shame that Fleur has had to go to Pairs, why Luxembourg could not financially support Fleur in singles is beyond me because it was there biggest star by some way. Fleur just needed a good coach and a technical jump specialist to help her, she has got everything else, but we have seen this too many times - IT IS A REAL SHAME.

It has happened to Mikkeline Kierkgaard, Kaja Hanevold and Nathalie Krieg in the past, skating federations must do more for there talented skaters and not let them disappear. I feel it will happen to Fleur too.

I am sure a lot of people feel strong about this too.

Well, I don't feel badly about Pairs being a downgrade for a skater. It's an extremely tough and dangerous discipline. It is decidely a much more beautiful discipline when the team related to each other - not unlike a good pas de deux in ballet.

I agree with you! Unfortunately the various European federations aren't helping European skaters to develop. And look what is happening (especially in Ladies and Men disciplines) to Euro skaters. So many talents, but poor results, because the feds don't finance and help skaters. European skating is going every year more down. Look at the JGP results of this season in Ladies and Men field. A complete disaster. Americans, Canadians and Japanese won every appointment and most of them aren't the strongest skaters (except for Caroline Zhang and maybe some other). In the Ladies field, countries as France, Germany, Britain, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Switzerland... don't have any skater for the near future. What will happen with the retirement of Meier, Sebestyen, Kostner, Poykio and the other few Euro skaters that can be at least in the top10 at Worlds? It makes me really sad.

Well i think she did work with good technical coaches but they couldn't get her the harder triples. Some people, no matter how much work they put in will never get the harder triples to any consistency that warrants putting in them in a program. I'm happy that she's decided to spend more years in the sport and learn to do my favourite discipline!! I hope she has great success in pairs - i think she will make a very good pairs skater.

It is just that she is such a pretty skater, she would do well in Singles if she coulf get one or two more triples and higher consistency level:(
