Free Dance

I don't forsee another scandal anytime soon, all I can say is with the worlds being in north america next year and the olympics in Canada this will be a huge advantage for V&M. Correct me if i'm wrong has a north american dance team ever won an olympic gold its about time it happenned, due to a large pool of judges Europeans will always be advantaged.

No North American team has ever won Olympic Gold. I think B&A may have been the first silver. Canada and the U.S. each have one bronze, and I think that's it. B&K are the only NA team to ever win a world title.

Wow that's a pretty flimsy total for north america, As a canadian I was never really a fan of B&K I thought Kraatz was a weak skater overall, but V&M Have me enraptured I feel they are a complete team and I agree with what Platov said about Moir his skating is impeccable.

do you have a link to what Platov said about Moir? I would love to read that!

Do you think anybody will be able to repeat your and Oksana's achievement in the near future and get two golds at the Olympics?

Possibly. There are interesting young teams, like Canadians Tessa Virtue/Scott Moir. They came from junior to seniors, finishing sixth right away. This is strong! I think Moir is just an unique talent. He has a gift to do every move beautifully. The coach doesn't even have to come up with anything, the nature already did it. He just doesn't have to ruin it.

He knows how to lead and show off Tessa. That's what masculinity is about in Dance. Charly White looks to me like he's doing a solo.

Joe

also maybe a bit unlucky for Khoklova & Novitski that the teck/specialist wasn't Russian...

Yes, it was the OD that was "packed" with Russian / Russian loan judges, and it was that panel that put K/N temporarily in 2nd place.

But the FD panel was more 'normal', and K/N sank back down. Problem was, they didn't sink low enough. Their FD was a stinker, full of mistakes and sloppy skating.

The whole time I wasn't too sure what it was about Scott that I preferred over Charlie! Don't get me wrong, I love D/W as well, but Scott just has that something extra.

You just summed it up brilliantly Joe!

weird, i find scott to be very "quiet" but still expressive
i see charlie more as a "dominant"
but then again different styles
