Gala is Starting Right Now on CBC Country Canada and online (3:35pm Sun)

Joannie just skated to Pat Benetar's "Heart-Breaker"
I wish she could skate with that kind of abandon in her competitive programs! She rocked it! She just let go and had fun and landed a beautiful triple toe and a gorgeous triple sal out of footwork; out of no where! It was awesome!

Jeff is on the ice right now skating to "Should I Stay or Should I Go". Very flirty! ;)

Jeff looking very tired toward the end of this! He had fun with it though. His jumps seem very laboured, very heavy landings - even the 2 axel.

Looks like I'm having my own little gala party here! lol

VERY cool, innovative opening for Carron and Jost free dance. Wow!

I wonder if they choreographed this themselves. It is really quite a showpiece! Very original moves! I like this team a lot!

Dube and Davison - her in royal blue, him in black. Skating to the vocal version of their music "can't take my eyes off of you"

throw triple loop gorgeous; beautiful lift, with her on her side and legs together, really nice performance

Yukari Nakano just floats across the ice. What a lovely gentle skater. She skated to a song called "Aria", wore light ice blue and ended with two gorgeous spins. Beautiful.

Kevin V-P just landed triple toe, triple toe, triple toe combo followed by a separate triple flip, and did some hydro-blading (Shae-Lynn's influence no doubt). Skating to music from Moulin Rouge - "Roxanne"

Yeah, he loves these triple-triple-triple stuff, he did two or three combos like that at the exhibition at Europeans last year - very cool. Neat to watch too.

Anna Capellini and Luca Lanotte (silver medallists) are on the ice - same costumes as their free dance (perhaps they didn't expect to be in the gala?) Skating to music from La Traviatta - their free dance was also from La Traviatta.

My favourite photo from this week was of this team comforting Melissa and Denis after their fall. They won a lot of points in my book based on the immediate compassion they showed their competitors. They're also a beautiful team to watch. Definitley will be contenders in the next few years. I like them better than Fialla and Scali.

Some little girls just brought out a black chair with a brown piece of carboard sitting on it that has written "to remember" in German, with a heart drawn underneath in black marker.

Aliona and Robin of Germany are set to perform. It showed him coming to ice from backstage. Skating to Leningrad by Chris de Burgh. He took the ice wearing dark green pants and a green dress shirt with a whit t-shirt peaking out at the collar. She is in a pink dress.

A very emotional piece of music; very beautiful, powerful performance.

Grrr, I want to see it! I have not even seen the Pairs LPs because the stupid YouTube is annoying, I cannot watch anything live, because Eurosport does not show the Grand Prix and I cannot get live streaming because I am living half way around the world...

Were S&S really good? How is Miss Asada doing?

How is Miss Asada doing?

Mao is skating to "So Deep is the Night" by Tony Christie.

She is wearing royal blue with material around each wrist and the back cut out into a keyhole shape. Her hair is down and very long - nice change, not so severe. Just landed a gorgeous triple lutz followed by another triple (I was typing, missed the take-off). She is interpreting this piano music better than she did her long program imo. Skipping across the ice :)
Bielman spiral followed by a Kerrigan spiral. Triple loop effortless. Ended with beautiful Bielman spin. Big smile. Ready to do her encore: doing the last sequence from her long program
