ITA. Among online skating fans 'Caro' is already taken and is confusing if applied to another skater. Zhang fans need to come up with something else (or establish something new for Kostner first, maybe Forza?).

I wish people would not use the name 'Caro' if it doesn't mean Kostner. I don't know if friends of Caroline Zhang actually call her Caro. If they do and it is legitimately a nick-name, then please say Caro Z.

I don't like "Caro" either. Why can't we type Caroline? Why do those four little letters bother us so much? If we can't say caroline, I say just use her last name.

I do agree that Caroline friends should not be using Caro. That nickname is already taken for Caroline Kostiner, and its way to confusing. Especially since they will be meeting each other this season. They can always Call her CaroZ, which might be kind of cute. But you can't steal someone else's nickname.

Or maybe Caro (rhymes with sorrow) could be Kostner and Cairo (rhymes with arrow) could be Zhang?

We can call her "Yuan-yuan", her Chinese name -- her family and close friends probably call her that, and she was introduced as "Zhang Yuan-yuan" by the Taiwanese commentators on JGP Taipei last year. It means "round-round" -- I find that really funny, she's anything but! Cute nickname, but probably it's even more confusing than Caro -- people won't know who it refers to.
