Here is the official thread for the final round of the Grand Prix Prediction Game! But before I proceed with this round, I'd like to take a moment and express how much fun it's been organizing this game. My scorers were fantastic and the time just flew by, even though I had to score the men.
I wanted to express, in song, my memories of the game.
Your feeling about predicting the men: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w
The feeling you get when your predictions get messed up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgSPaXgAdzE
And the feeling you get when you win a medal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCEaegLmPgg#t=01m2s
And how I feel about organizing this game and being a part of it with all of you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXQVicNodMw
(the video is part of my feeling on this. )
And just one more song to usher us into the final round.
As I've hinted for the last few days, we're going to mix things up this round. So read carefully!
1.) Since there are only six entries, all six entries will be scored. Obviously if someone withdraws during the competition, we'd just score the entries that completed the competition. Also we'll keep you guys updated if any of the alternates come up. The deadline for alternates is noon, local time, on Monday, Dec. 8.
2.) The scoring will be simple. If you get a prediction correct, you will score 30 points. But if you get that prediction wrong, even if it's off by only one or two places, you will get zero points.
3.) And there's more: If you get the podium correct in any discipline, you will get a 30 point bonus.. If you get all six predictions correct, you will get a 60 point bonus.
To save you some time, I've done the math: You can earn up to 960 points for this round. Currently the gap between 1st and 23rd points is less than 100 points, so we have up the ante to give everyone a chance to go for the gold (or the podium!).
The deadline is this round 7:15 p.m., Barcelona time on Thursday, Dec. 11. This is earlier than past GP events that started on Friday.
Still, you have plenty of time. Feel free to play around on the other predictions thread. You are, of course, welcome to edit your entry until the deadline.
Let's make this one good. Good luck!
