As far as reusing a DVD, if it doesn't say DVD-RW you can't... if that's what you have, though, then all you do is reformat the disk. My DVD player asks if that's what I want to do if I haven't finalized the disk... it's a great feature... It really depends on the player though so I can't be of too much help as I'm still learning about mine lol

So every time you put a DVD-rw in the "player" it asks this? What about in your computer?

probably but I have a killer spam blocker on top of the school spamblocker so what do I care? lol
once she emails me I'll take it down and then no one's the wiser
As for the RW - my computer does not read DVDs... and the other computer in the house that does doesn't have a DVD recorder
the recorder only asks to format IF the disk is not finalized... after that then I have to go through the menu to format... when I pop a finalized RW disk in it plays just fine

yes I have, all you do is reformat the disk... it's a completely blank slate after that (just like reformatting a memory card for a camera)

Hey, thanks for the offer. I'm talking about (I think I've said this 50 times lol) the OPENING fluff for the entire broadcast- the first 5 minutes of the broadcast before Taylor Firth's SP. I actually have everything else and only want (missed) that part.
ETA: I used the stop/start function to create titles for each short program and freeskate on my DVD disc, skipping the commercials
Editing to add: I have to go to my brother's or back to the office to copy the DVD.

Yes - I have the 1st 5 minutes before the skating begins. I usually set my TiVo to start 2 minutes before the start time of skating to account for clock discrepancies. I'd record only that portion to DVD for you, but it already got cleared of of TiVo. I can copy the whole disk for you, which also includes the Countdown to Nationals with Nancy Kerrigan that caused another thread.
I'm to lazy to do the stop/start function and create titles for each segment with my DVD recorder. If I really like a particular program, I sometimes record just the one segment independently to avoid fast forwarding to get to it.
