OMG! You're going to Disney World? WHY haven't you mentioned it?????!?!? :p

Seriously, I'm just jealous. I haven't been on vacation for like 2 years now.:frown:

Toni, when we've gone to WDW and the surrounding area...I plan and plan and plan. I used to map out the routes to and from every place we wanted to go so we wouldn't get lost. (and we still get lost every time we leave Epcot for some reason!) I mean, I practicly plan every minute of the day. And it's worth it. We had a plan for touring the Magic Kingdom that should've taken at least 3/4 of the day...we were done shortly after lunch because of my detailed planning, so we enjoyed the afternoon in the hot tub and pool at our hotel.
We've never stayed ON Disney property....yet anyway.
I haven't seen the Animal Kingdom yet. I know there is a LOT of new stuff if we ever get down there again.
We also enjoy going to some of the little side-of-the-road places. I think a lot of those have closed down, though.

So, you are not the only one who obsesses or freaks or plans or excitedly looks forward to a Disney vacation!
 
yeah I bought the Unofficial Guide to Disney World and they have touring plans that are able to chop the time you wait in line and tour to about 2 hours. It's awesome...

We called Disney a couple weeks ago and bought our trip. Airlines are also booked. So it's for real now...

I was writing a countdown in my dayplanner and I was getting all giddy lol I am such a dork.

It's not just the Disney part that has me excited. I haven't been on a trip with mom and dad in YEARS
 
You are bound to have a wonderful time, then!

We used the "arrive early" tips and the tour the park left to right rather than right to left tip....and also the check the que on the left for rides/attractions that have more than one line, the left line is often shorter. Supposedly, this is because most people are right handed and gravitate right. It all worked for us! Of course, I believe staying in a Disney hotel gets you special early entry rights and such for certain parks on certain days.
 
early extra hours and late night hours... but not everything is open during those times...

we also get into the water parks an hour earlier than everyone else. ha ha! ;)
 
That's another thing we've never done, the water parks! I don't really have any desire to do those, though.
 
they have something for everyone. I don't go for water parks much but they have a lazy river at both and I'm totally up for those! ;)
 
Now a lazy river I could handle!!!

Our touring habits will certainly be different than in the past if we ever make it down again. I can't take the crazy rides anymore. All tame stuff will have to be on our itenerary!

Actually, we're HOPING that next spring we'll get down to the Clearwater area with a fellow skating/Phillies Phan pal of ours, for some Spring training games. Maybe if we're lucky, we can fit in a jaunt over to see the Animal Kingdom.
 
The Animal Kingdom is really cool, but it doesn't have the long park hours that the other parks have because the animals are all on a very strict schedule and they don't/won't deviate lol

but it's a fun place. I only saw two lands and then the Tree of Life because it's so stinkin hot in the park (hottest temps of all the Disney parks) that I got sun sick... not cool lol

We have a plan to stay away from that this time. If you do go DON'T MISS FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING. It is the whole entire reason I enjoyed my visit to the park (that and taking a most awesome photo of a rhino's rump lol)
 
I heard the Lion King the musical that toured was awesome, did you see that?
 
no we didn't see the Broadway musical. Until very recently Alaska didn't get many of the good shows... we normally just get the off broadway shows of the once awesome musicals (Cats was soooooooo not what it could be lol)... my mom wanted to see it so bad...

but Festival of the Lion king is just as good as anything we saw on TV on the Broadway version :)
 
We've always gone to Florida Sept/Oct, and once our trip stradled end of Jan/begin of Feb, and once in December to see the Christmas pretties. We've experienced everything from late Sept. eves still in the 90's to the deck of our cottage being an ice rink due to the sprinkler system coming on automaticly but the temps were soooo darned cold. The Christmas trip was not only cold, but rainy. We searched for indoor things to do and watched the news a lot about a lion from a small zoo near our hotel on the loose and an awful hostage thing that was going on.
 
November was the best time for me as far as weather - just one rainy day - and there were almost no lines to speak of. it was awesome...

that's what I'm dreading in June... lines and HEAT :p
