I don't have a problem with Bode. But are the incessant droning of the numerous Bode Miller commercials driving you as crazy as they are driving me? On and on I have to listen to Bode wax philosophically about training and being his own person blah, blah blah. Couldn't Nike have hire Weir so they can at least alternate two different athletes who babble a lot? I can't even tell when NBC is interviewing Bode for real or if Bode is on a commmercial.

LMAO!!!! Yes, Soogar, Bode is driving me nuts... I'd say to drink, but then he'd join me and I'd be forced to listen to him talk again!

You what else is driving me nuts? The Flying Tomato! I love Shau White & even let the monster child stay up to watch him... but you must admit that its annoying to hear that term over & over & over... another example of the IOC pimping extreme sports without respecting the disciplens or athetes...

Awww, I lurve the flying tomato.

But right on about Bode. He's really hot but can you imagine going out on a date with him? He probably talks on and on about everything.

And that is the problem with hot guys... but that frenchman who beat him.... yowzah! I think I could listen to him ~ at least for awhile...

how many more events with bode do I have to endure? we should bribe someone in the russian mafia to kidnap him & sandra b. and lock them up somewhere. who ever dies first from listening to the other one talk - wins.

hehhe When I listen to what Bode says, he reminds me a lot of Elvis Stoiko. Elvis would babble on and on about his training philosophy and would never shut up. Elvis takes himself so seriously. :p

And Bode is skiiing in many events so as long as there is alpine skiing, you're going to see Bode. I bet if he has a dramatic wipe out they're going to show it over and over again.

But then they'd have another story and leave Michelle alone... so it wouldn't be all bad...

Did that chick skier Lindsey turn out to be ok? I can't find out ... Nasty fall but of course no updates on her condition.

Oy, yeah. I took the bait, and went and visited his (er, or is it Nike's?) website, and it is just as boring and self-satisfied. Maybe it is that I am not his generation, though. If he were really SO happy and successful with his approach and his life, I am not sure he'd be so anxious about droning to us about it. Why does he need to recruit followers, since he says he thinks we should each go our own road and judge ourselves by our own standards? Or maybe he has figured out that makes a good media angle and he can "complain" about all the media coverage!!!!!

I know, I am cynical today!

There is always Canadian coverage to avoid the capitalistic thrusts by the USA. We see these events on NBC because some sponsors are paying NBC to show us them. Nobody likes commercials but neither do they like pay-for-TV.

No chance of that , Bode has a lot of events.

He'd best win one of them. When you are winning people will accept "unorthodox" behaviour. They will call you things like "eccentric", "straight shooter", an "individual" or perhaps things like "harmless" or "amusing". When you lose you start hearing words like "immature" or "jerk". I guess we'll find out.

I don't think mainstream USA is ready for Johnny Weir. He's too comfortable in his own skin for some people's tastes.

I don't think Bode's cute, I prefer Brian Joubert, especially with his new long hair

DQ'ed today. Two events down, three to go. Gotta be feeling a little pressure now for sure. Probably gonna be squeezing those poles a little harder in the next event. Unless he's "wasted" of course

nothing against the guy himself. The hype certainly is driving me "nuts", though.

I have been watching CBC more than NBC, but I can well imagine.
If I see another beaver in a commercial it will be too soon.

So true. If he loses, he's just a jerk. If he wins, he's our jerk.

I think it's cool that Johnny is unique and comfortable in his own skin. My thing is he seems to try too hard to draw people's attention to him being different, which to me makes his uniqueness seem superficial/ forced.
