Is Mirai Nagasu Underscored?

Sotskova might UR a lot but to be fair she has more skating transitions and deeper edge.

But watching her is as exciting as watching the paint dry. So slow, so boring...

I find Masha Sotskova elegant, not boring. Each to his/her own taste, said the milkmaid as she kissed the cow.

She was underscored in the team event, too. She should have had over 140. Her TES at Worlds went from 70 to 57, thanks to overly harsh calls and, apparently, lower GOE that followed. They finally gave her 8 in PCS, which she has deserved (at a minimum) for a long time. If her PCS was deserved here, why was Alina's hot mess of a skate given a higher score?

Now this is what should finally be talked about. I do feel sympathetic for Alina but hey she had a bad skate. It was a mess, entire programmer was disrupted and out of sync with falls, her usual transitions were missed as she was playing catch up. It was not just her LP but even in the SP, her choreo was lost due to going off sync with her music. Yet she scored 69ish in her LP PCS while a clean Wakaba who skated her heart out got ..... 70ish??? I guess the judges saw things we didn’t see??
